Minor suggestion: Enable CRIT_BOOST on animal attacks
« on: July 18, 2009, 02:11:19 am »

Having some animal attacks be more likely to pierce internal organs, like the sting of a giant scorpion, would be nice.

Stingrays, deer, elk, antelope, moose, bison & buffalo, wild cattle, boars, some types of goats and rams, elephants (not that they need too much help), unicorns (ditto), rhinoceros (not sure if its in game, but it should be really nasty).

Pretty much anything with pointed horns, tusks, stingers, or any piercing type of attack should have a crit boost, with large and stronger animals able to deal more damage also.

Wouldn't a general crit boost make them run you through with their hoof?

I meant adding CRIT_BOOST on a per-attack basis.

Not that being able to pierce vital organs with your fist wouldn't be nice.

Hoofed animals do pose a real threat in real life if they know how to fight with them.  Hooves generally tend to do more slashing damage if the victim is unprotected, and very strong blunt force trauma if the victim is wearing sufficient armor and padding.

Slashing damage would make the hooves slice off limbs. Your skin getting ripped doesn't make it slashing damage
