Spoiler (click to show/hide)
usually I get "summer has arrived", at least I think I do. Why the change?
I'm in a good, savage, tropical environment.

It's because you're in a tropical area.

Yea, it's mainly because there isn't much change between seasons (other than possibly a wet and dry season) in tropical areas.

Woah woah woah - does this mean I can plant non-summer plants in summer, since there's little difference?

No, I don't think so.  I've never noticed planting being available at different seasons in tropical areas.

In real life, I think so in the tropics, but seasons still make a difference ingame. Not that it matters much for AG farming since outdoor crops are grown in all seasons.

(And you'd have to wonder what diff it makes to UG crops. But trying to put  "logic" or "realism" and DF into the same sentence is often a mistake, except in the negative.)
