HFS and Siege at same time

So, I break into HFS and out pour the SoFs.  Oh joy.
Military is just wrecked.  maybe 2 or 3 soldiers escape the Horrors.
Wait, whats that?  A VILE FORCE OF DARKNESS HAS ARRIVED!!!
Huzzah!  We are saved!

So, I managed to wall off the HFS and has the Gobbos locked outside.  Should I try to unleash the SoF's onto the Goblins?

It seems very dwarven to use the hell itself as a garbage disposal. I can just see this isolated pile of goblin clothing, rotten food, and chunks of animals sitting there in a featureless plain, slowly cooking in the heat as demons pick at it.

hell yes. Unassign your miners from everything else, and then build a tunnel from one to the other. Wait until two miners breach both walls at the same time, and have the entrance to your complex sealed off. One miner is definitely dead, another will be on the siege side and may survive, and your fortress will need only mop up the survivors.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

This is why you fail. I use harsh language every time. Those SoFs have a really low self esteem, and you try axes and bolts. That only makes them angry. Build some wooden couches and set dwarves to psychotherapy labour, or else assign a military dwarf to use bad words (equip two, they have a high chance to stick). Works a charm.

Nope.  But that is not the problem, the Gobbos decided to clear out after they lost 5 to my "spikes 'o' doom" and then lost 2 to the SoFs.  They did manage to kill an SoF, so I was impressed.

Now I have SoFs loose in the countryside, the entire fortress is in a foul mood, the entire military has gone to the Department of Dwarven Veteran's Affairs or gone Section 8.  The children are going berserker.  The SoFs got my King and Mayor along with a good 20 civilians along with the original 20+ Military (mostly champions).

So, business as usual.
