Turn 14:Order:Zestorum (2!), Mr. Person (1!), Sephiroth (3!), Dwarmin (4!); New order:Dwarmin, Sephiroth, Zestorum, Mr. Person
Dwarmin-
(Observation check:5!) You chase after the second undead goat, cornering it on the far side of the strange quarry. You noticed in your peripheral vision a second set of double doors leading into this place. It seems that both the right and left lower doors come here. The zombie mountain goat turns once you have it trapped and you both engage in combat.
You attack (3!) lashing out with your stick and connect. (Goat dodge:1!) The slow moving goat takes a heavy clock in the (3!) right leg, (damage:2!-1). The blow was weak, but it leaves a noticeable indentation in the leg. The goat strikes back. (1!) And misses.
You continue to press your attack, trying to pummel the stupid creature back to death. (3!) (Goat dodge, 3!) Your first swing misses but you try again, (3!) (Goat dodge:4!) and amazingly the goat just barely manages to move away in time. The goat tries to bite you. (attack, 4!) You dodge the bite (6!+1,4!+1) nimbly stepping out of the way.
You strike. (2!) You miss the goat. And again. (1!) Missing the goat entirely. (luck:1!) Your swing overbalanced you and you fall heavily to the ground. The goat takes the opportunity to attack. (2!) but misses.
You quickly scramble to your feet again and lash out as the zombie's smell begins filling your nostrils. (5!) (Goat dodge:4!) (Location:3!)(Damage:5!-1) You hit it again in the right rear leg, and with a loud 'Pop' you can see it bend at an awkward angle. It might slow the goat down a little but it keeps trying to bite you. (4!) (you Dodge:5!+1,3!) You manage to avoid the bite but in your haste you lose your footing in the loose rock and go down. It falls on top of you.
You try to push the creature off you with your staff. (Opposed STR checks) (5!-1 you) (4! goat) You don't manage to break free of the fetid creature but lash out and twist with your staff anyways. (6!,5!) (Location:3!) (Damage:3!-1) You easily manuever your staff into a good position and are able to break the leg you'd been working on. The unbalanced goat falls on top of you, doing it's best to gnaw out your innards. (4!) (you're pinned, you can't dodge) (Location:6!) (Damage:6!) (Luck:3!) The vile creature latches on to the left side of your head, gnawing voraciously. It is wounded, it is bleeding, and you think it might have an ear of yours in it's mouth.
You try whacking it again before tearing it off of you. (1-1!) but you don't manage to connect. You desperately try prying the thing off you (3!-1 you) (2! goat) and using your staff you force the thing away from your face. It continues to try and bite you. (2!) But can't get past your staff.
You try to push it up and off (2!-1 you) (goat:4!) but don't succeed. Instead you shift your grip and try to hit it. (2!) You miss entirely. The goat tries to bite you again (1!) but misses as well.
Holding your staff in place to keep it away you punch out with your other hand (1!) but fail to connect. (Luck:6!) Fortunately you get your hand back in position in time and try once more to throw the thing off you. (6!-1 you) (2! goat)You push it away carefully and manage to get to your feet again, just in time for the thing to shamble back into you. (Attack:6!) (You dodge:1!+1) (location:3!) (Damage:6!) It bites you savagely, tearing into your left leg. You are wounded, you are bleeding badly. You are also limping. (-1 to actions involving that leg)
You smash your staff into it (5!) (goat dodges:2!) (location:2) (Damage:4!-1) and hit the right front leg, knocking it securely on the ground the leg bent slightly off. You whack it again while it's down. (2!) But miss. The goat tries to gouge you with it's hooves. (5!) (you dodge:3!) and it strikes you (location:1!) in the left leg again (Damage:5!). The kick knocks you down and you think you're leg might be broken. (Resist pain:6!-1 (bad toughness)) You manage to stay concious.
You lie on the ground near the goat and do your best to get into a position to hit it. (6!,2!) (4! dodge) (Location:4!) (Damage:4!) (Luck:3!) You strike it again in a leg, the rear right one and do some pretty good damage to it but it's still flailing. You hit it again. (3!) (Goat dodge:2!) (Location:1!) (Damage:6!+5!) You strike it in the torso with a massive overhead blow, crushing it's fragile ribcage into goo. It immeadiately collapses into a pile of fetid goo and bones. You feel your goddess is pleased.
(+2 Observation experience, +4 Staff experience, +2 Dodge exp., +3 Unarmed combat exp., +1 Alignment point, You are wounded in the head, Badly wounded in the left leg and bleeding heavily. Your leg may be broken. You are Thirsty)
Sephiroth- (no action provided)
You remain in concealment and drink some water quietly as the dwarf heads down the passageway where you came from. You can still hear the dwarf above you breathing. (Stealth:2!+1+1) (Detection:4!) The dwarf appears to be listening now, as if he noticed something that's bothering him but he's not sure what.
(No longer thirsty, Stealthy)
(Recovery roll:6!,5! Your leg now feels completely better)
Zestorum-
You take a hearty drink from your waterskin, quenching your thirst entirely before filling it again at the moat. (Luck:4!) Fortunately for you the water is reasonably fresh and clean.
(Observation Check:3!) You go stand directly in front of the massive stone drawbridge and thinking quickly you put your hand out in front of you and try to summon forth a massive wave of fire. The complexity of the action is considerable (6!+1, 5!+1) but you manage to do the complex ritual perfectly. One second there is a small flame in your hand the next it begins speeding out and falling to just above the ground as it speeds from you elongating and growing in height as it goes. By the time it hits the far wall with the drawbridge it's fourty feet long and almost half that high. (Luck:3!) A heavy steam boiled up from the water as it past, obscuring your vision for a second as you hear the flame strike the wall with an audible 'whumph' and you hear an odd creaking sound. The sound get's louder and louder when you realize something is comig through the mist. It's the bridge, and it's falling straight towards you!
(Dodge:6!,5!) You manage desperately to dodge out of the way as the massive stone structure hits the earth where you had been, moments before, foolishly standing.
As you stand and brush yourself off a quick wave of weakness passes over you. You realize that was powerful magic you just did, and you feel both thirstier and a little hungrier because of it. You grin despite that. It was rather impressive, regardless.
(The way is open before you. +4 Fire magic experience, +2 Dodge exp. Your light is consumed.
Mr. Person-
(Observation Check:3!) The bridge does look rickety but you can't see anything obviously wrong with it so you do your best to cross it. The ropes were clearly set up for a smaller person than you.
(Action:5!) But you manage to cross it easily, though the ropes do creak somewhat when you first put your weight on them.
You enter the roughly circular building and to your surprise it's clean, albeit a little dusty. The only sign of bones you can see are on a coffin, set in a raised dais at your eye level. The wall opposite you has a square portion that seems to be walled off and used for some other purpose. There is a ramp just in front of it that heads down into the darkness. The raised dais interests you the most however. The floor to your right slopes down several stories to a small flat portion, roughly in a 60 foot cirlce around the dais which is on the same level as you. It almost appears as if the thing had been installed and then the floor cut away around it. You can't see any way over to it short of climbing. The coffin appears to be made of bone and ornately decorated. It looks to be very high quality work. Two items lie on the coffin and they appear to be stone items. One looks like a crown the other a scepter.
(You are hungry, but it's not so bad)
(Recovery:2! No change)
As part of next turn you will need to tell me where you want to camp for the night. Night-time is considered an 8 hour turn. How defensible your camp location is determines the liklihood of you being interrupted or not. Sleep deprivation and tiredness can lead to very bad rolls. So keep that in mind. And congrats to Dwarmin who managed to make it past an encounter both alive and victorious.
