(Heh, for all you know in the DF setting, Elbereth was the name of some mad elven general who slaughtered his way across the continent and enslaved other races until a kobold wench killed him in his sleep and then fed him to the dogs. But sure... write it if it makes you feel better.

The Battle is finished and exp. has been awarded. Sorry it took so long. Turns may recommence. Though keep in mind injuries and food levels. Dragnar, you're in pretty bad shape and penalties will be applied next turn to most actions. Reece, you're also nearly hungry and thirsty so penalties will begin to apply to you soon as well.

Dwareet'ik, you're in a bad mood now since you prefer to avoid conflict. You are glad you didn't have to kill the goblin, but he is your group prisoner now. You'll have to deal with him somehow.

I'll use some clean(er) scraps of cloth from the fallen goblins to bandage my wounds.

Afterward I'll drink the last of my water and eat a bit more of the meat.

If there's time I'll also look around to see what sort of supplies the goblins had. You would have to be pretty stupid to send out a scouting expedition without at least a few days food/water.

@Tehstefan-Get to Interrogating our prisoner. Learn how many Goblins are here, what is there purpose and how long until they will reach us. I'll leave it up to you if want to try hard/soft tactics or if you wan't to let him go afterwards.

So, it's probably more Goblins outside...I'll go and see while trying to refill. If we're lucky it might be Dwarves who appreciate Goblin killing, or someone else entirely.

I'm assuming you guys consent to me borrowing your waterskins, though. We could move together if you like, it would probably be smarter...in which case I'll stay and help heal some more.

I'm thinking we can destroy the rope bridge and slow them down, at least until they build a replacement, but that would obviously cut us off from that path. Again, we'll see what happens...

Actions
Heal Dragnars wounds with magic. Also, help search and help divide all Goblin loot among us.

Then I'll drop my bag to lower my carrying weight, take everyone's empty waterskins and make a dash for my water source outside, at which point I reach it I will refill and return, after sating my own thirst of course. I'll also attempt to retrieve my leather.

Though I will likely run into Goblins or whatever, at which point, I will flee if discovered.

I'll interrogate the prisoner, if I can speak to him, and try and see how many goblins there are, what they are doing here, and how quickly they plan on entering this fort.

(Healing,Mundane:6!-1) You find some good sized pieces of cloth on the goblins and use them to deftly tie up your wounds. It impairs your mobility a bit but you've managed to stop your bleeding, well enough.

You realize only then how hungry and thirsty you are and finish off your water and eat another piece of meat. It fills your stomach and quenches most of your thirst, but not all of it. Forlornly you look at your waterskin and realize it's empty now.

(Observation check:2!+1) You poke through the belongings of the goblins and to your surprise you find they carry very little on them. You find the obvious weapons, 1 -iron battleaxe-, 1 iron spear, 1 leather whip, 1 large iron dagger. You also find another corpse caught in the weapon traps at the back of the hallway, a wrestler apparently. All of the goblins were wearing a mixture of cloth and leather armor but none of it fits any of you. If you wanted you might be able to rework pieces of the leather but the cloth is essentially useless except as bandages. Only the axegoblin carried a small satchel with him and in it you find some moldy bread and rancid meat, of uncertain origin. He has enough food in there to apparently feed his squad for a day, two if they're careful with the food. None of them carried waterskins either, which may be a bad sign for you. The axegoblin's leather had some images sewn into it of various scenes, mostly goblins inflicting cruelty on other things. But one of them appears to be an image of this very fortress.

(Cast Cure light wounds:1!-1) (Luck:1!) You cast the spell and in a flash of light the magical energies erupt in your face, surrounding you with a brief arcane glow and the smell of ozone. You feel a little thirsty but otherwise don't notice anything peculiar. You decide against trying that again for the time being and decide it is probably better if you went to help Dragnar search the goblins. (Observation check:1!) But you're so distracted by the miscast spell that you think you see spots floating in front of your eyes and keep blinking. You find little of value on the goblins.

The least you can do at this point is to go refill your groups waterskins, so you take up a collection and begin heading up, making it as far as the upper room, which is strangely quiet after all the commotion it has seen recently.

Ajax-

(Action:6!,5!) You take what remaining otter blood you can find and clear away a smooth patch of stone before writing out the word 'Elbereth' on the stone. It makes you feel better, even if you're not completely sure why you're doing such a thing.
You cautiously light a torch and enter the passageway, securing the door behind you.

The stone inside is cool and your torch provides just enough light for you to see a little ways ahead. You make it a good ways in before you see up ahead a large interior room, roughly thirty feet by thirty feet with a smallish circular stairway going up in the center, a passageway leads further on along the wall on the opposite side of the room but the stairway winds up into the upper reaches of the wall itself. You head up the stairwell cautiously and nearly thirty feet up it suddenly stops at a landing of smoothed stone. There are no rails, nor walls and inset into the stone in two directions are notches on the floor. Looking across at the wall you notice that there is an upper passageway leading along the center of the wall in both directions and only just then do you notice a dwarf, clad in steel chain standing there in the darkness at the edge of your vision. She speaks, or you think it's a she based on the timbre of her voice.

"What're ye wanting, Human? Few wander the paths of Geshud Osod lightly in these times. Have you come to the Fortress of Bones to find yer death?"

She awaits your response.

(Discovered the interior wall)

(Understand language:2!) You try communicating in the goblin in his own tongue but you can't manage to pronounce the words at all and give up even trying. The goblin seems to laugh at you almost and rasps out in the common tongue, 'Stupid oaf. Few of your kind smart enough to pronounce the language of the Snoskupisoromud, the goblins of the Pained Banner of Scourges."

(Interrogate:4!) You pry him with questions but throughout the whole of it your initial failure seems to have set much of the mood and whenever you question too hard he simply lapses into his own tongue. You do manage to gather that he is a scout of a larger goblin force to the east and that one of his patrol managed to escape. He seems to find this amusing in the utmost and seems eager to watch you meet your  doom at the hands of his comrades. He seems not the least intimidated by your threats but reluctantly volunteers the information he has given you.

You are hungry and thirsty.
Recovery roll:3! You feel no better, but no worse than after the battle. At least you're a little more rested again now though.

Inform the dwarf I ask for no violence. State that I'm simply a curious ranger of a neighboring civilization and came to explore what I thought were ruins.

If the topic holds no hostility, perhaps ask for the chance for some trade. Perhaps offer up one of my well-cooked goat roasts as a gesture of good faith if she seems to need convincing.

Hmm. This character isn't supposed to be as nice as Weedo-Su but either way if she wants you out, get out. She's wearing a lot more armor than you and has tons of advantages. Try not to bring up gender, either. That can only lead to trouble if I'm wrong.

I recommend that I take over interrogating the prisoner for now, while tehstefan goes to gather food. Someone has to watch him, and my mobility is impaired at the moment.

Okay, I'll go grab your waterskins, and then search for the nearest river, anything that might hold water capable enough to drink.
