Day 5, Turn 5: Order:Dwareet'ik (1!), Ajax (5!,1!,6!,3!), Dragnar (5!,1!,6!,6!), Reece (2!); New order: Dragnar, Ajax, Reece, Dwareet'ik
Dragnar and Reece-
(Dragnar, Strengthen metal:2!) You begin the intricate series of symbols needed to strengthen the metal of your newly forged sword but accidentally mispronounce one of them over halfway through and the energy that was building up dissipates through you. (Luck:2!) You feel thirsty and realize how dry your throat is. You also notice that you're quite hungry and magic isn't something best performed casually. You get to work reforging your old rusted sword, melting it down and adding some of the iron scraps from the old smelter to make up for the lost material. Reece is able to help you in the process. (Forge longsword:5!+1,6!) (Quality:24!,94!) You make a very nice sword out of it and even Reece eyes it approvingly. Forged +Iron longsword+. Once it's cooled you give it to Reece, so he can have a *Real* weapon, not one of those pansy elven swords.
(And you can try to recall your metallurgy in this case since it's not an actual appraise check.)
(Dragnar gains +2 weaponsmithing exp., Reece gains +1 exp)
Ajax-
(Observation check:3!+1) You manage to find spot some small lakes a little distance away and make your way there, drinking deeply and topping off your waterskin. You also find several reasonably dry looking faggots that would burn. (20' light for 2 turns each, found 3!)
(I'll have you take up hunting until you get back.)
Dwareet'ik-
You take some time to familiarize yourself with the forge before beginning. (Action:4!) (Negate unskilled penalty) You think you have a good idea what to do for beads and you get to work. (Create glass beads:3!) You begin melting the sand and carefully pour them into what you presume to be the proper mold. You might have removed it a little too eary and some of them disfigured slightly. (Gained 1 handful of green glass beads)
Well, this is the last official post of the year. I'll be out of town for a while myself and will probably resume posting next year. Have a good Christmas!
