... After little deliberation we set out after the treasure fleet, plundering the Dutch and Spanish ships along the way, all the while recruiting at ports we came across. Friendly ports. In Montserrat we came across a treasure map.. For Bart Roberts Treasure. Alas, it was a small piece of the map. We had no landmarks we could find on it, so we kept it and continued. Mayhap we shall stumble upon other pieces of the map...
... We found nothing interesting more and speedily left, for fear of retribution for previous attacks upon the French. Continuing south, Island hopping, we planned to stop off at Guadeloupe, however as soon as we got into range of the town, their cannons opened fire upon us. It was not a necessary stop, so we turned around. I called a vendetta upon the French, all but the English shall be plundered. The ship we came across was a French ship, a French merchant man, ripe for plunder...
... It was a short match of cat and mouse, firing a few broadsides we closed in. Boarding the enemy I quickly attacked the captain, dueling him overboard. After the battle was over we press ganged a few men into service, while we gathered supplies, cannons and goods. We decided to keep the ship to keep all the plunder, we also plundered 200 gold coins. Few, considering what we may achieve...
... We continued on after that achievement, hoping for a friendly town to dock, recruit, repair and gather news and rumors. After island hopping for a week or two a call came from the lookout. A pirate hunter was seen to the rear of the ship, we turned to engage, to teach this knave a lesson in Armok, in Ozymandias...
... It did not go well, the ship outmaneuvered us. It destroyed our sails, than our ship. We sunk, then our merchantman sunk. I was washed up on shore a deserted island, of the other I do not know. A passing pirate ship picked me up some times later, they quickly elected me as captain. I decided to forget about the previous happenings, and strive forward. We passed no ships until on the coast of Brazil, we saw the ship of Bart Roberts attack a Spanish trade galleon, we did nothing but pass. We decided to not attack anything until we reached Margarita. In the tavern we recruited men, we then found out there was a Spanish Treasure Fleet heading to Rio De La Hacha. That was some way up the coast, perhaps longer than what we just traveled. We decided to go to Cumana, to see if the Treasure fleet was there, heading there or gone. In Cumana we found that Bart Robert carries 1400 gold with him. Amazingly in Cumana we filled our sailor capacity in one recruitment. Dutch Raiders were seen on the horizon and the call went out, we were first up, not in defense of Spain but in attack of the Dutch. Quickly, outgunned and outmanned we moved in, hitting them and boarding. We quickly sized the ship, killing all those who did not join us and kicking the captain overboard. We gained a skilled carpenter to join us, 10 sailors joined us. We gained a bit of loot, and our largest single gain of gold yet...
...Limping back into port, captured ship in tow we were treated as heroes by the populace, more so by the governor. We went to the governors palace, there he promoted us to captain, in recognition of our captures. His Daughter entered while we were talking, she is quite beautiful. She said that if I attain more ranks, I can take her to some GrandBall. With this the merchants started trading with us, we repaired out ships and sold the captured one. Now we sit in a smoky tavern, deciding what to do.
Okay, not the greatest luck. However we technically only lost a hundred gold directly. What should we do:
Wait for the Treasure Fleet?
Go to where you think the Treasure Fleet will be (Rio De La Hacha)?
Stay with Spain and prey upon the Dutch and French?
Go after Bart Roberts?
Other?
