Mr. Person hasn't even logged in for about a week. I presume unexpected technical error.

I suspect Real life happened.

How did you figure that one out? Anyways, I accidentally copied over the image of the troll raid, but we actually did pretty good. I think like 3 people died and 12 or so got injured. No weaponthanes died, thankfully, but 1 or 2 got injured. The trolls didn't get anything, suckers.

Anyways, that ends year 1. The guys who went to the northwest aren't back yet. It's Sacred Time again. Divvy up the magic, make decisions, blah blah blah.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Pretty much yes a single cow is the base unit of value, although they aren't really used as a currency.

The general values are

1 horse for 4 cows
1 good for 1 cow
2 food for 1 cow

Being a barter economy though, cows are obviously weighted more important in trades with other clans, while foreigners tend to take goods instead.

Health, herds, children, crops, and (mysteries|quests). Leaving two for battle.

Sounds good to me.

Hey guys I know this is quite heavy necroing and I'll be offtopic but I have an issue with KoDP :/ and noone seems to be alive on different forums (related specifically to KoDP).

So yeah I got the game installed it and applied the 1.7 patch. however when I try to run the .exe file exactly jack shit happens. I'm on win xp and I tried running it from compatability mode and even dosbox (always worth a try xP) but the file is just never ever responding to anything. it's as if I never activated it. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Never mind... the file just suddenly started working an hour after activating it and works normally now.

Do this, we really need to ramp up the raids and our defenses.  Recruit more thanes.

Also, WHERE DO YOU GET THIS GAME????!!!!!

Seriously, I made a thread about how to get this amazing game, everyone said either order from the company ( not an option for me, really ) or pirate it, which I don't want, but even if I did want to, no one specifically told me about a specific site.

And to think I was going to do a forum game based on this...

I was wondering why somebody bumped this.

Sadly, the only ways to get this game are through online order (on the official site or a resaler like eBay) or illegal piracy. I suppose if you can find somebody else with a copy, you could buy it off of them, but good luck with that one. I don't know any other methods of acquirement.

I think I'll just yarrrr this, 20 dollars+shipment costs for a game from 1999? No thanks...
In other news, there is an iOS release of this game coming soon. I will definately buy that one ^^

On getting the game, would it be possible to call A-sharp/Issaries_Inc. up and talk to them about "ordering" a copy, so that you can use the torrent legally and thus skip the shipping fees and long wait? I don't really know how often this happens, but it seems reasonable.

Which slightly disgusted me; judging from the dev-log, they have stripped out a third of the complexity of the game, along with making it generally easier. Being as this complexity and attention to detail is one of the game's core values, it isn't quite the same game anymore, and there will be a lot of people who think it is.

[...] (mysteries|quests). [...]
Also, to clarify, this means "either mysteries or quests", depending on whether we want to try a heroquest this year or sacrifice for secrets. I was hoping at the time that someone else would choose... although I have a feeling it doesn't matter, seeing as how Mr. Person has apparently abandoned this.
