Dead Whale Explosion

Lets hand it to humans...theyre pretty dwarfy.

A dead whale floats up on the beach and stinks up the town, so the local officials do the only reasonable thing; they blow it up.  Blood and blubber rain on the crowd a quarter mile away.  The less beardly ones (females) gasp in horror.  A car gets crushed by a chunk of whale fat.  When the smoke clears the whale carcass is mostly still there.

They end up burrying it....which was probably the most reasonable solution the entire time.  But they knew that.  They just wanted to blow something up, y'know?

Ah, this video I have seen loads of time.  I don't know what that town was think.   ::)  I bet they just wanted an excuse to BLOW UP STUFF.

I just realized I put this in the wrong general discussion thread. 

Hmmm....how to make this about DF?  Ok, community challenge....someone make a whale explode!

I think they die of thirst or starvation or something.  Probably thirst.

The sheer, unashamed absence of thought here makes me hope everyone involved got fired. These people shouldn't be handling explosives, someone could have been seriously hurt.

 Couldn't they place the explosives in such a way that the chunks would go out to sea and bloster the local fish population?

That's what they did Duke, the "plan" was to place the explosives on one side of the whale so all the chunks would go flying off into the ocean.

This just wasn't a rational idea, is what I'm saying.
