Name it MrEd and use it as a portable shipping box.  It obviously wants to get a head start harvesting your garden!

Does it have a halter? Your best bet would be to tie it up for now and notify the police as its probably someone elses that got out of its pasture.

If its 'timid' offer it an apple, they love those. Hold the apple in your palm facing up otherwise it might bite your hand a bit. If your in a somewhat rural area its probably broke, thus tame so I wouldn't be to worried about approaching, they are generally gentle creatures.

We have 4 here, all just big kittens really.

Dang... i'd post pictures but Tinypic isn't agreeing with me

Also, thanks for the advice Rilder, my mother has attempted to tie it up but it bites her when she tries, and now it's apperantly wandered into the woods behind my house, and the police didn't do anything, they just drove up, then away...

Do onto it as you would onto kittens. (Kill it and eat it)

Call the council, the police have better things to do than look after runaway horses.

I've had that "oh there's a horse in my garden" thing once or twice. usually means that someone forgot to shut the gate.

Around here they help all the time with that sort of stuff.

Probably best bet would be to have him in view of the road so someone looking could spot him easy.

That's nothing. I live in the suburbs and a few weeks ago about five cows were wandering through the neighborhood.
