New Basic Tileset Version
Now with revamped and smoothed characters!
Okay, slowly making a new version for the new version. I have redone the whole base tileset in Illustrator, so it is all clean and smooth with proper transparency. Get the new, vanilla tileset

I forgot that Flickr shrinks images that are larger than 1024, so that is a little fuzzier than it is in reality, but it gets the point across. Better screenies to come once I get some good things to screenshot.
I won't be working on a new version of Dwarfletter Gothic until the new version comes out because I need the latest, stable raws to do so.
The old mod is no longer workable for this version, but I don't want to drop this part of the post just yet.I know you've all been waiting patiently for this. Well, at least those of you who posted in or read the thread about the development of this tileset. The Dwarfletter Gothic tileset is finally in it's beta version and available for download at the Dwarf Fortress File Depot. It's been a LONG several weeks of development, with a wedding in the middle to deal with, so I just finished final tweaks like, two hours ago.
For those who are not aware, Dwarfletter is a tileset I made from scratch incorporating a clean, Dwarvenly styled typeface. It comes in a variety of flavors, including angular, round, and square walls, plus a vanilla-compatible version that is the whole of 437 done in the appropriate style (available as a separate download and in the full package). The full-featured version DOES change a ton of tile and color assignments in the raws, but no variant affects gameplay. This is purely a cosmetic endeavor. The usual Mayday style of removing diacritics and the Sean Mirrsen all economic trick are incorporated because they allow more tiles and fill a functionality gap that I think the game could use, respectively.
Also, latest versions include a new dwarf mode soundtrack I nipped from Kevin Macleod at incompetech.com, the home of the best royalty free soundtrack music ever. A very soothing, ethereal piece that adds a lot of atmosphere to gameplay, which is what this mod was originally about. A more complete list of changes is on the DFFD posting.
Dwarfletter is being used as the typeface for the text in Deon's
DF Complete mod. Those graphics and typeface make for a satisfying visual experience.
