Ugh, one hour in and only on number nine. I don't blame you for switching but for some reason I have this strange loyalty to Windows. If Windows 7 doesn't deliver I might be finished as well.

Wait, you are blaming Microsoft for updating their product?

I think it's a vastly amusing thought that elephants are so afraid of heights that when Dwarves invented the Z-axis, they couldn't bear to face dwarves in combat anymore.

I think it's more of a time complaint.   On that note, I just updated Debian Testing on my Laptop... 33 updates, 1:12 seconds.

The whole update took about 2+ hours for about 200+ megabytes of data. I can download gigs of software and install it in minutes. Not complaining about the updates themselves but how long it takes  :(

The reason you can install gigs of software in minutes is because you have a nice stable OS there that makes it easy for stuff to be installed on it.

Takign so long for updates does suck though. but usually i just go for a walk or something while it does its thing.

A couple of months ago, I would have agreed that Windows was unstable, and would have gladly switched OS's if I knew how. I had constant BSOD problems. However, once I could be arsed to take a couple of hours to update my drivers, the problem went away, and it works like a charm now. Yes Windows is a cheap capitalist company after our money, but at least it works, and not all the errors are its fault.

Except, as Redhat/Novell/etc. has shown, you can make money on Linux Support.

I'm still rooting for ReactOS.

Which, if my assumptions are correct, will be finished at the same day the cure for AIDS will be found and Dwarf Fortress reached version 3.00.00. (Implemented the sub-atomic particles! Now the elves can eat them too! OM NOM NOM)

Not feasible.

Why not? Linux was feasible. Besides, I'm only waiting for 0.5

I'm not saying this applies to any of the cases here, but lately I've been seeing more and more people defending Windows because they don't want you to switch for selfish reasons... (ie: they just got their certification/training and think it will go to waste, they work for a software company making only Windows applications, or they support Windows and don't want another system to learn.)  They don't care that a it's only hurting the tech industry to have a sole major OS.  Complacent Operating systems inspire complacent tech workers leading it into an unskilled profession.
