Rhesus maquaces, not so harmless anymore
« on: July 11, 2009, 09:09:17 pm »

started a settlement in a group of dark towers, only humans here. currently we are being invaded by literal ARMIES of the stupid monkeys. they've killed at least half a dozen of the humans, and some even got names before they died on my traps. and they just keep coming. its a non stop zerg rush, and i hav never been so happy to have brought so many dogs. each dwarf has 2 at least, so thier reasonably safe

it's getting pretty bloody outside the two towers i've claimed, tho. so many dead children

capture them, breed them, add the trainable tag to them and then start a monkey war.

Bonus Points: Modify them to fly, assign all of them to one female dwarf that hates water.

ok, now i'm getting really excited and scared at the same time.  there have been 7 kobolds here in 3 minutes. as soon as they ran when spotted, they were all slaughtered by the monkeys.

i'm doubling the number of traps, and digging a moat, and giving each dwarf lots of dogs. I will not be the first fort to be wrecked by monkeys!

I've never had rhesus macaques but everyone seems to have funny stories about them. One of my mates had a champion wrestler in a narrow corridor taking on hordes of them,  but I haven't even seen one! Damn you rhesus macaques!

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

Do they stop showing up at a certain population?  I haven't seen a gang of them for like a decade.

Yeah you can kill all of the animals in a region after a while, and once you do they won't come back.

Ever since my first fort which was plagued by Monkeys that killed my animals and ran off with my anvil I have made a point to exterminate any Rhesus Masques that I see.

What if you didn't have any genitals, couldn't you just go naked as a dude (because showing your nipples is okay)?
What if monkeys created civilizations on the moon?

How the heck does a small 10 pound monkey (let alone him and 4 or 5 of his friends) drag an anvil which has to weigh at least half a ton (the ones ingame say 3140, most likely in pounds)?
