Because you all bothered to introduce one another's class when you met and/or can tell he's a druid and not just any other armoured elf just by looking at him.  Define 'druidy'.  He could well be a soldier for all you know; he has leather armour and a spear.  The only member of the group who looks even vaguely civilian is Auchfor.

The pair of you sneak into position cautiously, and although you stay out of eyesight, both of you cringe at the noise you make moving.  The piglizard yawns and pads away about twenty feet cautiously, not yet running but putting some distance between itself and the noises it keeps hearing.

When we reach the machine city and everyone's a cyborg, I will accept that judgement.

(i'm from a tribe of primitive wood elves. I have leather armor and a spear, not some giant tree growing out of my back.)

Aandion tries one more time to talk to an animal of the New World. "Come now, we wont hurt you... We're just lost and afraid... we need help..."

You step out from hiding and make yourself known to the piglizard, speakin in soothing tones and making it clear you are not a predator.

Animal Empathy: Success

The piglizard, whilst not exactly bounding towards you in friendship, seems less afraid of you.  It sort of watches you cautiously, making no effort to flee further.

Out for the night, but Animal Empathy checks work a bit like Diplomacy.  If you want to get any more friendly than that, you'll need to make it a new offer.

Aandion searches the trees and ground for some fruit. "Sym, how do we know it can eat our food? It's better to give it food from it's own world..."

"I say the elf should be the one to approach the beast, he seems to have a way with animals." Kadol helps Aandion search for fruit.

Yeah. This is also a confirmation whether it is poisionous or not.

I still want it for bacon though... I guess we could tame it, then we have a chance of learning whats poisonous or not.
