"I agree. We should search the forest, there we will surely find firewood, and probably something to eat as well," he says to Sym, and points towards the nearby trees.

Dazed from the passage through the unstable portal, the High Druid (considering they're primitive savages, someone able to make it rain on occasion and bring the odd deer to camp is considered the High Druid, so he's not all powerful or anything) Aandion was dazed and uncertain. After a few minutes of clearing his head, he looked around, at the majestic sprawling plains and great forests.

"This is... beautiful..."

Taking note of the leaving sapiants, Aandion follows behind them, wary of their motives, but not willing to part with the only people he has seen so far. After all, though he may feel the majestic undercurrent of raw nature in this world, he was inexperienced in the old world, and he does not feel the same connection he had, yet.

Sym and Kadol, you walk a short distance down the hill and spend a bit of time studying the local flora in search of something edible.

Although the plants themselves are unfamiliar, you recognise similarities with wayside trees from your travels, Sym.  You find a tree that has similar fruit to elderberries, which you reckon is safe to eat.  Untrained Survival Check:  Success

Kadol, you have no such luck foraging, but you spot several tiny creatures scuttling through the branches of the trees.  They appear to be feathered and possess beaks like birds, but possess small forelimbs instead of wings with claws for grasping the tree trunks.  The feathers are largely a dull white except for a crest of pale blue at the chest.  They make soft ratcheting sounds at one another, like someone drawing a bone over some shells.  You are no expert at ornithology, but you reckon they might be edible.  Untrained Spot check:  Success

The trees themselves look to be hardwood varieties, but there are fallen branches here and there.  A number of them look rotten, but with a bit of searching you could probably get enough for a fire.

Sym:  How?

Aandion:  You make a few efforts to call one of the birds to you, to no avail.  Animal Empathy:  Fail

Instead, you hear the bark of a familiar friend!  Running through the woods toward you from a little further up the hill you see your faithful hound and animal companion!  He must have come through the gate and, by chance, ended up near where you came out.

Sym:  Your attempt to inspire proficiency is contingent on you having a plan to be proficient in.

Look for water.
Look, look, look, look for not dirty water.

"Cain! I thought I'd lost you!" Aandion kneels down to greet his dog. "I know you were only a village pup, but do you think you could help us catch some of those birds?" Confident in his ability to at least communicate with this animal, he stands up, beaming rather brightly.

Sym:  You search around a bit and find the odd shallow pool, but most of the obvious water here is stagnant.  You do not find any sources of running water in your immediate vicinity.  Search/Survival Check:  --?

Aandion:  Cain wags his tail and barks at the bird-like climbing creatures, snapping at them in the tree.  The 'birds' keep to the higher branches and, dogs not being able to climb, remain safe.  If only you had adopted a cat.

Sym:  You return to Origin Point, the hill on which you appeared.  Not much has changed, except that a few minutes have passed.
