I've been having this problem for a while now, certain sites simply refuse to load or load very very slowly, these being wikipedia and hell.game-host.org (  ), and i'm pretty sure it isn't my ISP. I'm running windows xp sp2 professional, i also have trouble opening flash based stuff online, some don't load at all, while some load very very slowly.
I checked msconfig, turned off all non microsoft processes, updating java, no firewall on, no anti-virus software active, and it still won't connect to said sites properly (it does connect actually, but very very very slow, and since i have this problem with hell.game-host.org too, mushclient locks up when connected to hellmoo at certain points).

Any ideas on what could be causing this, i've got this problem for a week now.

First things first:

Are you running any programs that use bandwith? Like p2p, WMP, WInamp, updaters, etc.

You could have a trojan. 

If you can't access some virusscanner homepages, this becomes more likely.
Install a firewall and check for unknown programs connecting outside.

Alternatively update your ethernet drivers.

It could just be the server.  Wikipedia's been slow for me too.

XP, that tells me you guy a dinosaur machine running around that needs to just die. Other than that reset the router for a second to clear out its ram and check to see if its your DNS thats screwing up.
