Epic name, man.
« on: July 09, 2009, 05:47:35 pm »

My husband, Erich, has just started playing with mods. He has the orc mod, the beastmen mod, and the zoo mod installed, and has been using Dwarf Manager. Anyway, he was modifying his dwarves' labor preferences when he came across a guy with this name. In-game, the name looks like Sarvesh Alåthatul. Somehow in DM it came out Sarvesh Enovaheaegudenemu. We don't know why, but it's pretty awesome.

DF is known for its awesome names, both in dwarven (dwarfen?) and translated. Excellent example: Boatmurdered.

So what are you guys' favorite dwarven names? Fortresses, dwarf mode dwarves, adventurers, etc. all welcome. :D

I believe some Hobgoblin race from a major pack of mods. Early on in the history of the world, a female demon wrecked things up. Her name and title?

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

I forgot what it meant, but my favorite dwarf name was Limul Saramoltar.  I always thought it was a pretty awesome name.

My kingdom's name is 'Deadly Death the Deadly Death of Death'.

This does not bode well.

There used to be a bug where every aspect of every name would be set to "Pregnant", "Pregnancy" or "Pregnancies".  You got a lot of "Pregant Pregnancy of Pregnant Pregnancies" showing up.  And the landscape would be similarly named.

Toady did fix that bug eventually though, so you don't see it as often anymore.  I wonder why the bug chose that particular word though... it doesn't show up first or last in any of the raws...

I have a fort named "Bitchsoldiers"

I removed the [CULL_SYMBOL:ALL:UNTOWARD] from the entity file for Dwarves, though. ;)

The Ancient Abbey of Gears was a good fortress name, recently.

I got "The Ocean of Boots" once, and my hammerer has been named "pleasurebane". Quite fitting, really.

If I ever randomly got a region named this, then I would make nothing but boots to sell to the traders. :D
