One of the oldest games I have never been able to beat.

Yeah, it's really hard to hurt the boss if you don't.  Press z or x any keyboard key besides arrows or space.

I spent ages on this, absolutely no indication of what to do to win, in the end I stumbled upon the awnser through sheer luck. A terrible terrible game!

I play this game a few times a week just to hear the song at the end.


Also, there was an even better pixelated version made in TIGSource's Bootleg Demake competition a while back.

I found a torch power up once and threw it at the boss but it didn't seem to do anything.  The game is probably bugged.  I don't think you can kill him.

I've never been able to get to the boss, the early game is too hard.  Am I just supposed to level up more?

Are you playing as a Diviner?  That class is really for experienced players.  Try it as a Swordsman.
