THE SLAVE PIT
You arrive at the goblin dungeon, the menacing gate standing before you. Will you enter the Slave Pits, and free the slaves? Or will you die, your bodies rotting beneath the earth?

Jack rests his longspear on his shoulder, other spear held by a sheath on his back.  He glances at the other two.

"So I don't know about you, but I'd quite like some slaves.  If you two are serious about this whole 'fighting the goblins' malarkey of yours, we're going to be needing a lot of backup.  Slaves are pretty good for that."

"So what do you actually know about this place, Jakkara?  I assume we're not just blindly assaulting a heavily fortified position."

Jack glanced up at the building in front of them, taking a view of its facade.

I'm single wielding.  The longspear has a range advantage of 2 squares, but cannot be used up close.  The ordinary spear can.  Both are two-hand weapons anyway.

Jakkara, this would be an excellent time for a Bardic Knowledge check about these pits.

DM:  I would like to just look at the building housing the slave pits from the outside.  As much detail as possible, please.

((I'm keeping my character sheet on the first page updated.))

"Yea, slaves could be useful. We can't bring down the goblins alone."

Looks at the gates uneasily.

DM to Ituem:....Did I not answer this earlier? The slaves here are either
1-Heroes that tried to defy the Goblins(Now dead or of no use)
2-Old People
3-Children
4-Others

DM to jak-Can you read me?
Okay.
You know of not much, no secret entrances, no hidden chests, nothing.

"I mean granted most of the slaves here aren't going to be much use for fighting, but we're going to need support staff, you know?  If nothing else we might be able to trade them for some more battle-ready sorts."

"Additionally, Jakkara, you can either tell me what your plan is or it's not happening.  Whisper it if you must, but if we're going to pull this job we need to be open about what we're actually going to do."

I meant the actual architecture of the building.  Is it a massive tower, is it a squat granite block, is it merely a small dome where we assume the meat of the dungeon recedes into the earth?  Does it only have one obvious entrance?  Are there any windows, arrow slots, parapets, lookout towers or the like?  Right now, all I can see is the gate.  For that matter, if those hashes represent a physical gate, what is it made out of?

"well then, that did not work.

New Idea, CAPTURE a Goblinoid, do not kill the wretch, shall we proceed?"

Jak-DM, read? please elaborate?

"also, please, PLEASE try not to make fools of thineselves. we have our reputation to think about, we must save all of the slaves, or, at least, the ones that will be missed"

Jack looks at the building. It seems that it is just a hallway, torches on either side of the wall lighting the way, but you arent able to see far down.

"Knocking one out will be easy enough if we find one alone, but why? And just why does your reputation matter here? Don't tell me you're going to actually tell them that we're here."

I'll look at the building and see what it's made out of.

"Reputation, shmeputation.  We're not doing this because it gives us fuzzy feelings, we're doing this to wage a war on our goblin overlords.  If it makes you feel any better, we'll make them our vassals, okay?"

"At any rate, if there's no other way into this damned place, we might as well get through the gate.  This place must eat, right?  I say we stand here and use your skill with speaking Goblin to intercept their next supply wagon.  Tell them we're the guards receiving it, then we can take the wagon in ourselves and walk right into the middle of the base to get a look around."

Jack gazes at the gate, the and takes a look. It seems to be made of iron, but you arent sure, as the color has seemingly dulled over the years.

Wat? What torches? Do you have some?
