Good Bad Bugs
« on: July 07, 2009, 04:45:03 pm »

I was rereading through Television Tropes and Idiom's page "Good Bad Bugs", the very page that introduced me to Dwarf Fortress, and laughing about all the funny things that happen in games.

One of the entries though, provided a link to an absolutely hilarious Youtube video featuring the game Golden Eye:

It cracks me up.

The part at 0:48 is the funniest of them all. I remember one comment calling it the "best sex scene ever."

Wow, that's how I found DF too! I read up until...

Quote from: TVtropes
Don't forget about absurdly overpowered throwing. By now, a character can mangle a body part and brutalize its internal organs with a pebble, a coin, or even her own vomit.

And then I was just like fuck, DOWNLOADING.

N64 had some awesome bugs, because they hadn't perfected the art of the 3D engine yet. Ocarina of Time and Mario64 had some damn amusing bugs... (starts searching Youtube)

I always check the forums before I look at another trope.
Next up is rereading the DF page.

...That wasn't a very long session. I spent 3 hours on it because of this topic.

Which is SO far still funny.

Oddly the music is fitting and I have no idea

Though people seem to link it to sex and are surprised by how tame the actual music videos of that song are (and how Not super sexy the singer is)

Oh wow! I escaped, in minutes, I clicked a link off site on that very first page (The one to killing Lord British) and then closed the tab without thinking after I finished reading. I've never escaped from tvtropes like that before.

Blarg.  Am I the only one to find Dwarf Fortress from Noctis?  I got into Dwarf Fortress because of the building and exploring aspect, not the torturing aspect.
