I am thinking of uninstalling this game 'cause the combat is dull as hell and there does not seem to be much to do other than fight these stupid  micro battles.  I admit i have not gotten very far into it but it feels like grinding...

Does it get better?  Should i stick with it (not too much detail, please, if it DOES get better)?

Then again, I consider Infinity to be overly ambitious, something that might easily spell it's downfall.

Well if you don't like the gameplay while your hero is low level, you won't like it when it will be high level at all. The gameplay itself won't change.
