Why not?  Statues are furniture, so of course, the same as any other furniture.

Because the dwarf can't get to the floor the statue occupies. It blocks passage, after all.

Ah, statues once they've been placed. True, you'd have to de-place them and then replace over the smoothing/engraving.  But it still counts for value, which was the OP.
