You're looking for KREW. They're the least FUCK YEAH RANDOM GRIEFING WOOHOO corp, they're run by veterans, and they seem to have at least some standard for who they allow in the corp.

But, early on, no matter what corp you join your job is to improve your own abilities. Think of it as an independent training session to learn how to work there: you can't do much to help out if you have low skills and stats.

Ah well, thanks for the notification...  Now of course I'll feel bad trying to find some way of leaving TLE (I already feel bad though, because this damn stupid bug I caught still hasn't let go of me completely.  Blaagh), but I suppose that's something I should just get used to...  I'll keep an ear out for invitations to KREW.  By the way, what's the acronym stand for?  If anything?

Y'know what'd be a good corpname?  CTAN.  Couldn't Think of A Name (or possibly 'The 12th street Couldn't Think of A Name gang, all depending on how far you want to take the joke).  A joke and a WH40k reference in one go.  Booyeah.

I'll just go about grinding then.  I don't suppose being in a corp would actually speed that up in any way?  Can't imagine...   Anyways, I've actually been at something of a loss as to where to go from here.  I have no weapons, no weapon skills, and I've basically just been doing medic runs the whole time, picking up on the medic job when it's available.  I recently nabbed the utility repair job and a wrench (and got someone from TLE to tell me which goddamn radio station to listen to...  Seriously, where are these things posted?  Nothing in the job description or help tells you which station to tune in on), and of course the first notification I get was of something in the sewers.  I'm, ah, a little scared to go down there without an escort.  Naturally.

I managed to get the gambler job, when I was trying to find something to do for TLE.  Someone ran in and killed 21Jack and stole his boots while I was playing against him though, but that didn't seem to stop him from dealing.  I think I even managed to leave with more cash than I entered with, which is quite a statement considering my blackjack skills are a touch rusty.  And the occasional chat with Frog nets me another hit on the socializer job.  Aside from that, I don't really know what else I should be doing.

Yep, I am a chud.
Hunched back, yellow eyes, ect.

Neato.  I've wondered a few times about what it's like being a chud, roaming the great smelly wilderness, climbing about on stuff, wailing, free lodgings, supposed access to really neat systems of travel across the world...  That whole package.

As an addendum...  Does anyone have any mrer information on the Brainslug mutation?  Nothing I've found so far will say anything beyond "it puts a slug in your head" and "use {larva} to cough up a brainslug larva".  I heard someone talking about it siphoning off a portion of your earnings.  What the hell *is* this thing?

Being a Chud is great.
Only minor stress, you only have to keep a pair of sunglasses handy, minions, 30 second travel to mass, new clearwater, and a few other places.

The lodgings are really bad though, 4 or so climbs to get to them, no security.
But yeah, free.

I tried a chud alt, being a Chud is fun as hell, but my brainsfreak character is doing really well atm, I can't just ignore him.

I have enough monies to make me a corp and get simulators going, but I think it would be wise to wait till I either got support from experienced people or become strong enough to take on endgame baddies.

Brainslug, from what I gather, is a horrible mutation. Somehow it continuously drains your money (a rumor, as far as I know) but the brains/stun resistance doesn't make up for the brawn loss, especially if you're somewhat low already as a brain/sense geared character. It's also extremely difficult to get, requiring about three people (if you take in consideration the skills involved in acquiring the mutation); you need hack, lockpick and some good fighters, and a decent medic is handy, to break into the Radome easily.

All in all, not worth it.

You apparently don't know its main use, taking over npcs.

But if it's a mutation brains characters would be going for, they'd probably be able to provide the hack, locksmith generally goes hand-in-hand with hack, medic is a brains skill too, and high-end whips are awesome. So that's one player, with maybe another combat build along with them. (Of course, I don't even know what the fuck the Radome is, so...)

A lot of people seem to presume that support builds are going to be weak in combat (and in some respects they are, being unable to wear thick armor), but their normal weapon skill (Whips) uses senses and reflexes, which line up with other support skills pretty well (reflexes is required for locksmith and pilot, senses for craft and scavenge, and both contribute to dodge, which helps them survive combat better).

Of course, anything but blade users are going to have even better weapons (blades is basically the starting weapon for guns users; use blades to get the money to buy guns then train up your chosen gun stat and forget that you ever knew how to stab shit with a pointy metal stick), but support builds still aren't weak.

Oh yeah, that was another thing.  There's quite a pervasive stigma attached to whips.  The TLE ingame message board includes hints and tips about the various weapons available in Hell, and it has this to say:

"Whips:  Ha ha, you use whips so everything sucks for you."

Say...  Does anyone know if it's possible to plant crops or similar?  I had an idea in mind for a Plant Whisperer/Solar Sponge/Empath.  Namely, a Hippie (or Spongepath Whisperer, if you prefer).  Of course, that idea doesn't really work if you can't have a joyful garden of Eden Ganja at your disposal.  Potted plants are fine, so long as you can actually make a garden of the things.

TLE being a scrubcorp in the grand scheme of things doesn't help the fact that their ideas of what is and isn't good aren't up to par with the rest of the world. In general, (as someone said before) support builds use whips. These builds require more than just moving around and killing anything that moves; finding parts, grinding some silly or harder to use skills, and being able to do more than just poke/stab/bash/fist/shoot things to death. Not all players are able to keep to the general build (hell, I have 1 raw in some random things, everything from Focus to Hack to Lockpick, around 5 in medic and whips, and 1 in various other skills) so if they have to focus on just combat, its a much easier thing to do. My first characters were combat oriented and to be honest, I'm doing better overall in combat with my support-esque character, despite the loss of heavy armor or multiple layers. It did make dodge (and getting as much in Reflex as possible) a higher priority that I have to pit against other support mutations, because I wear extremely light armor.

I've had no problems using whips so far. While slightly weaker, they're faster and more accurate than most other weapons (venomous lash excluded). Just powerattack everything at every opportunity, and fight in aggressive (or cautious, if you're having a hard time hitting things). Despite the 'help powerattack' page, I think it actually increases accuracy, rather than decreases it, but at any rate, it also helps prevent the 'bounces off enemies skin' message and gives an opportunity to stun. Go from an antenna whip (easy to buy) to a leather whip (10 skins and 'improv whip with skin') and later a venomous lash (if you're really lucky, a flame chain is awesome) then skip a blacklash for a flash whip. Balanced grip is the only way to go, and shock mods on the flash whip/blacklash; for anything below that, it's preferential as far as butane or shock, because they both do an extra 1-3 damage and have the possibility of setting the target on fire.

As far as the planting thing goes: I don't think you can grow your own things, no.

I've had similar results with powerattack.  On the few scuffles I've gotten myself into (including trying to subordinate one of the wandering chimps in Slagtown so I could spank it.  I wanted to see if there was an achievement for spanking the monkey), I've taken to using powerattacks almost exclusively due to the seemingly increased chance of hitting, plus the damage bonus.

Shame about the planting...  Can't very well be a hippie with nothing to do, eh?  Weed is essential, and what's the use of talking to plants if you can't even coax some lovely THC out of a friendly shrub...

Why do I have the sneaking suspicion that penis enlargement pills either do nothing or give you cancer?  Seems only fitting.

Well, now I'm trying to figure out where exactly I want to take this character...  The stats are minmaxed, I'm sorry to say, with 14 brains and senses and 10 reflex.  No wonder I keep dropping into 1337speak whenever I get a little stressed...

Vayra was on tonight, and I brought up the matter of my resignation over the corpchat.  I said I had something to say that I was somewhat uncomfortable about bringing up.

Vayra assured me that she didn't really have anything against furries personally so it was fine, but she would see to it that I would be griefed for the rest of my life should I be one (funny, seeing as the game includes fursuits and "yiffing".  But then again, it also includes that gorgeous saucy hen and her delicious exposed plastic starfish...  Mrrow).

When I made it clear that I just wanted to resign, because I felt that the group just really wasn't that well suited to me, I was called a big baby by one of the other members on the corpchat, who told me to "just quit then!!".  As it turned out, I would not in fact get the chance to do so.  Vayra fired me before I could turn in my resignation.

Ah well.  Such is life in the badlands.  I'm fairly certain I've earned a spot on the corp's extensive griefing list thanks to my announcing my retirement as though it actually meant something.

Yeah, HellMoo and furries are a bit odd. There are a TON of fursuits, for no other reason then because the admins made them to piss off the players. And don't worry about the griefing bit. They probably won't bother you. Still, try to take it a tad less seriously. Very few people do. Seriously, the proper RP is what would you do if you were functionally immortal in a post apoc society.

...

You obviously don't know me very well.

Anyways, I just helped out one of the other chaps from TLE after I left.  We were both grinding the hospital, I let him finish up first and told him where the patients were wandering off to.  So that's at least one dude who won't go too far out of his way to grief me.  But yeah, I don't really expect any great crusade against me just for leaving the corp and trying to be polite about it.  It's just that, considering the list of other griefable crimes they possess, I was about as good a target for senseless violence as was likely to be found.

And I will continue to take things seriously because that's just the kind of awesome I am.  Cheers.

I sincerely wonder how it is that Sinny hasn't been griefed out of the game. He's the holder of a one-man corp called YIFFY and has a furry @describe. It boggles the mind to think there aren't legions of concerned citizens lining up to butcher him.

Hmm... Trying to get into the utility worker job is hard when I can't figure out the radio commands to get the announcements. Otherwise I just wander the sewers and hope I find something (currently 3/4 and 0/10 for that job).

Other than that, whats some good XP jobs? I haven't made it to Luskentyre yet, though I probably should figure it out considering how many bounties and packages require that area. I've completed Office Worker, Whore, and I'm currently working through Ghostbuster as I grind whips to 6 (a horribly long process, even when actively grinding it)
