Which is why I mentioned the 'Scares the shit out of me' bit.

I'm trying to stay below the radar for the time being, seeing as anyone higher up would wreck my shit in no time flat.
Already got Brute Strength, thinking of Twitchy nerves for the reflex boost. 19 brawn when horny is pretty nice, and if I can get my reflexes up, I'll be able to smash the hell out of plenty of things with my fancy new slam-bat.

While I'm on character stuff, what armor would you guys suggest?
Right now I'm using a scrap jacket over leather, skullhelm over a pot w/gasmask, lacrosse gloves over spiked gloves, combat boots,  and studded jorts over chudskin leggings over chudskin pants.
Seems to keep me safe from most mobs like crackheads, chuds and chobos, but I'm not sure how useful it'll be in keeping me alive in general.

Until you're strong enough to kill leeches, that'll do unless you know a crafter who can make you a Gusoku.

About what would you suggest stat-wise for leeches? (And where the hell are they?)

Oh, and I've been adding to my fists bit-by-bit as a backup. Turns out, I'm nearly as good with them as clubs. Maybe I should pick up some knuckles or something.

I don't think there's a good crafter in my corp.. honestly, I think I'm the only one holding any recipes. And I have 7 brains. Great.

You need about 40k xp for leeches, minimum.  And they're in Luskentyre.
But, what you want is leech-hide armor which is an utter asshole to make.

If I remember right, for a full set of leech-hide (and ideally you want TWO)

18 leech hides
8 ice yeti pelts (FUCK THESE THINGS)
6 bunny pelts
and 4 vials of cytadine

This is the best armor in the game for mid-to-high level characters, really.

Alright, I'm only about 5-6 k, so that won't be for a few weeks at least.
I suppose I'll just focus on getting my reflexes up (So SLOOOOOW), work on my brawn a bit (At least 20 base w/BS), then get some endurance going. (Need those hit points.)

I was tempted to reroll with higher reflexes, but I'm pretty happy with where I am, considering I had no idea what I was doing.

You NEED max reflexes.  No question.

In char gen use the following for a clubs build:

Max ref, brawn, and dump the rest in end

Then gym up ref first to 18, then brawn, then end

Twitchy Nerves and Brute Strength should be among your FIRST mutations

EDIT:  And endurance has nothing to do with HP

Well, I have time to kill, so I'll just build up ref. in the gym. Shouldn't take all that long anyway.

Can you still build brawn by carrying heavy things around, perchance?

CARE_BEAR scares the shit out of me, but otherwise seems cool. Gave my corps some basic advice, and even a warning regarding someone. Seems he's right about the guy.

In other news, I lost my noob tag, got an apartment, became manager of a corp (Out of necessity.), and seem to be doing pretty well considering I started less than a week ago.
Yay.

Yeah, GOHAN is much more...'tame' than Goku (for lack of a better word). Gohan still seems to have his random ambush moments, but I was only non-provoked attack by Gohan once, others were from my hacking. (Goku and Gohan protecting COPS cams was quite annoying :-/ )

I don't know...I don't die insane amounts when I am not getting killed by random griefers (which is not much recently), but I haven't exactly gotten quite far into the game either.

There are good days and bad days.  I've had days at a stretch where I didn't die at all, I filled contracts, and got lots of xp.  Then I died 85 times in one day and lost every bit of cash I got from the contracts in recloning costs.

Started a new character yesterday. I'm trying to recreate one of my old Hell characters minus some poor choices I made at one time or another (lolripper).

I rolled 14 brawn, 12 reflex, 12 endurance. Tagged fists, first aid, wrestle and scavenge.

Wasn't sure whether to tag wrestle or not, but my old character was a brawny motherfucker and yet hat trouble restraining other characters. The other choice was either spears or climb, but I can buy or grind those later.

I'm currently taking it easy with orphans, amassing some credits with the delivery boy and rabid orphan quests while trying to grind fists in-between. Already got me a place at the Bradbury, so for the most part my meager booty is safe. Still no mutations but I think I'll get superclot. Bleeding sucks and the +2 endurance boost sounds nice for junkieing purposes. It's not like I can get past the Neotek hipsters or bring down Charnold by myself anyway.

In short, I'm a newbiecake ready to be exploited groomed by a corporation.

There's a place in GOASTS for you, more than likely.
Get a hold of Polaris and he might set you up.

Not playing at the moment, but I'll be going for tn today, assuming I can get some help finding it.

LESSONS LEARNED:
1. Prisoners can still beat my ass. And grab me. And violate me.  :-[
2. The galleria has some surprisingly nice things if you're patient enough to check every store.
3. Searching bodies shows more than just looking at them. (All the loot I've missed because of my ignorance.. :()
4. Fists are a nice backup choice for me.
5. Nanite healers are -wonderful- things.
6. I can handle Chuds, Chobos and Crackfiends handily.

I don't know why, but it seems after your early opponents (Crackheads, old folks and orphans), it gets a lot harder to find things that aren't a massive threat, yet aren't a pushover.
