I haven't tested it, but on the website there was an update that said they removed the XP restriction on the Cube Hotel.

Yeah, I've been logging out in the cube for a while now at 30k+ XP. It still works.

That probably has to do with how hard it is after awhile to get an actual room in a hotel, they really need to make it so you only have a maximum.

I played for a brief time awhile back and was thinking about rejoining and starting a new character. Since the community here seems to be comprised of fairly levelheaded and kind individuals, I was wondering if you may have any recommended character builds or corps I should take an interest in.

Also: What's this about the cubes being less restricted? On what terms?

Hmm...  If Hyperimmune just does like it says and gives you an Immune System of the Gods, wouldn't that mean that getting stabbed with an HIV+ hypo would give you super-AIDS?  Seeing as it's an autoimmune disease and all...

And if it actually went ballistic on every foreign body (which is its reason for the reduced nanite functionality), then you'd never be able to do anything because of being ludicrously allergic to, well, everything.

I should make a mental note never to apply logic to games again.

I'm pretty sure logic falls apart when we have a game that allows you to grow a third nipple permanently, or the 40's view of radiation giving a third arm/testicle/breast/eye. And the first thing you see coming out of character gen is someone getting face f'd and having that guy's junk ripped off, choking that person to death and making the other guy go into shock (and dying from blood loss).

This exact thing (allergies, at least) was suggested as an idea, and if I remember right, it got a pretty solid amount of support. I don't know what number it was, though.

You should totally post some of these on the game, they're pretty interesting ideas.

Allergies, while possibly more realistic (you could very easily imagine it as a more intelligent immune system, that destroys complex entities within the blood, since it doesn't have any effect on chemicals beyond whatever the +2 endurance has), would be a horrible nerf to something that's already got it pretty bad with a) ruining nanites, and b) only protecting against fairly uncommon, though often dangerous status conditions.

Super-aids doesn't really work out because it specifically attacks a normal immune system, whereas Hyperimmune would leave a fairly alien one that would probably fuck with its attack vector.

In other news, I got into my first extended battle with another player today. Some asshole in KING kept hitting on me, and then started insulting me over pages when I told him to fuck off. So I attacked him, and lost by a hair because he had more nanite healers than I did (and better armor, though it wouldn't have mattered if not for the nanites), though my wonderful little rifle otherwise shredded him. He proceeded to die fighting propecia before I could get back to him (probably bled to death, because prop is pitifully weak), so we tried camping his cocoon. Failed, but I came back to the CM to find him fighting propecia again, so I waited and ninja'd the nanite healer from prop, and ran off with it. He later ambushes me, and I kill him, so me and a corpmate camp his cocoon. I actively start hunting him, leaving my ally to guard the cocoon, when he works up the nerve to come back. Then most of KING shows up to save him and his pitiful loot, they burn several nanites keeping him alive, and we haul ass out of there. An entire fucking corp coming to ward off two low level players. XD

The best part was the retarded trash talk he kept spamming to us the whole time.

Damn, lol. What corp are you in again? Pretty ballsy to finish a fight with someone in KING (especially if they had more than ~3  members on). Zerging people needs to be fixed (because you can technically space your grabs to keep them permanently unable to do anything at all). At least it sounds like you had a chance and they didn't sound that smart.

My IGN is JackBread, of course and I am a medic/repair guy.

Now, how do I find caches?

Huh...  Funny, you'd think (or at least I would) that people would direct a freak-build character towards fighting, pumping up endurance and whatnot...  But according the official wiki and all its taken-with-salt-iness, the Freak mutation gives a huge boost to Senses (+4) and doesn't touch Brains at all.

This, coupled with the difficulty they have getting standard medical care and supplies from cities, would make a Brainy/crafter Hideous Freak quite powerful and appreciated.  Then you can even work something out with Freakpath, should you desire the extra support boost.

High medic skill will let you treat other freaks and abominations, who could certainly use a helping hand/claw, and high craft (boosted by the +4 to Senses, which also boosts your scavenging ability) will let you patch together items and objects for them to use.  Being able to analyze and treat the mental illnesses of other freaks would also be highly appreciated, I'm sure.

Congrats on owning that dude. Who runs KING, anyway? And who was it that attacked you/spammed nanites?

Just got killed in two attacks by some random guy who stole my armor and ran. Lost all of today's work and the leather armor I save for the last week to buy. Now I remember why I quit last time and will be doing so again. Seriously bummed over this.

Started out, wandering around as an orphan.  Still getting used to the interface, having never played a MU* before.

Some fairly interesting early experiences.  First off, my prize for ripping apart that lovely stuffed chud toy was a gay porno titled "When Fags Bash Back!".  My later attempts at finding a female-base porno in the stuffing resulted in two bottles of Sham Adams, two donuts, and several Yoda figurines.

I wandered about for a bit, and was exploring the room with the furnace when some other new guy attacked some poor sap who was wandering around inside the orphanage.  We ganged up on him and beat him to death, and then the other new guy ("baby shon") just left.  While I was trying to figure out what to do, some dude named "Frog" came into the room, stripsearched the dead guy, and left.

Two seconds later he came back, grabbed me, and shoved me into the furnace for good measure.

After I'd respawned, baby shon came back into the hole and bumplundered me while I was drunk off my heels from Sham Adams.  I took this as a sign that it was time for some serious duffing up, so I entered into a titanic battle with the little tyke.

Whippings, kicks, punches and inappropriate touchings were exchanged as we fought, punctuated only by shon's repeated attempts to molest me and my attempts to ward him off by peeing into his face (beer will do that).  Eventually, I discouraged him to the point that he ran off.

Feeling pretty good about myself, I decided to poke around to see if I could find a more suitable outlet for my brought-to-attention fruit basket.  I managed to overpower a young girl orphan and toss her into a private room, where I proceeded to grab her several times and attempt to raise her interest by fondling, and strip her pants off her.

This was tricky work for a 10-year-old however, and I eventually worked myself up to the point where I committed suicide in front of her by strangling myself with an electrical cord.

I think I'm gonna like this 'ere mode of entertainment.
