Gold seems to be the norm for people who don't want to be casually robbed, but is there a middle ground between gold and diamond? (diamond being too expensive for me atm).

There are plats, but they are also really expensive. Gold and a trickrtreat plus informant is a relatively standard loadout for the door.

Edit: It seems my corp has disbanded. Not very surprising, but I'm now a corpless science whore, and that doesn't work out too well.

Is there any way to find out about a corporation other than asking people on the street? I've been approached by DSI and FTM and have no idea about either of them. What corp would you suggest joining?

I would like to mention that I was the one who kept FIW from fucking the place up. I'm aware of the nature of that apartment and consider myself its protector. A word of advice: Don't go to your apartment when you have FCPD stars. They'll just open the door and kill you, letting other people in.
