Mountain towns

That happens if you combine [DEFAULT_SITE_TYPE:CITY] and [START_BIOME:MOUNTAIN].

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Might not be new, but looks nice.

Aztecs, HERE WE COME!

Now if those dudes worshipped Armok, then he would be damn pleased. Seriously, an excess of 100 slaves a day. Hearts ripped out. On top of a freaking artificial mountain on top of a freaking mountain. Then kicked the hell off the altar. Watching it's body fall to oblivion.

Fun.

Fun.

they might have a pillar going down into the nothing.

It's my personal pet peeve when the access to a building ends up underground though; and only a bit of wall is sticking out of a slope.

I see you finally forced them to make platforms though, nice! Now settle your dwarves there and improve on the town, since they've finally learned to build something you can't flood it with magma.

This is the first time I've seen something like this. I like the looks of it.

Hmm I wonder what happens if you add Ocean biome.

I have a civ that does that.  They are smart enough to build on the land beach.  Though it sometimes has the interesting effect of having towns placed on the islands in the middle of the ocean.  Worthless in adv mode, but probably handy in fort mode when you want an island fortress that isn't completely cut off from trade.

And I've seen human buildings placed on pillars before in hilly terrain.  They seem to randomly decide to build pillars or dig a hole to the entrance.  I imagine that if there is an extreme difference in elevation they always use pillars due to the difficulty of having the game intelligently build a ramp system down to the door.  That does look spiffy though.  Never saw it that dramatic.

you can't flood it with magma.

Sounds like a challenge to me...

You can allow or stop your dwarves from eating these mushrooms, but it's entirely optional and doesn't turn Dwarf Fortress into Dwarf hookah-smoking pad.

Actually, now I'm wondering what the hell happens if you tell dwarves to live in CAVE_DETAILED sites, but on flat terrain.
