Start running towards the house, careful not to trip up on any stray roots or fall into any potholes.
BTW: Is the forest near the house? Or further away?
Further away, there is a large clearing around the house. You run towards the house, and reach it, cleverly avoiding all kinds of holes and twisty roots.
I run towards the house, watching for stray dogs and werewolves.
You see no trace of dogs or wolves, but: running, at night, through nature, without looking down, is a bad idea in general.
You trip, and fall. Your right arm breaks with a loud, wet snap on a rock. Your right foot is stuck in a tangle of roots and thorned branches.
Check my general surroundings and walk slowly toward the light near the house, watching for anything moving.
The house is in a large clearing. Slowly but surely, you reach the front of the house, you see nothing moving, but you feel something watching, beyond the shadows.
I carefully head for the forest, ready to run if the howls get closer.
The forest is a lot darker and bigger and menacing with spikes than it seemed from afar... The howls get closer. You get ready to run. You hear a scream coming from the forest, somehow it sounds close, yet distant...
charge the howls.
You charge downhill, towards the forest. Once you pass the treeline, all light is absorbed by the trees. Blindly, you charge forward, disregarding the sharp twigs and branches that flay the skin from your flesh. There is a howl close by, you scream, and suddenly you hear a large branch snap. The pain is gone now, and you realise that it wasn't a branch that snapped, it was your neck. The last thing you notice is the foul breath of death around you...
I'll sign on to the waiting list.
"The last thing you remember, is that you were reading about a game called" etcetc
Those of you closer to the house, see that it is built of red bricks, and three stories high. It's quite big. The light is somewhere behind a window on the second floor.
