[40d13] Sub-Window Mouse Problems
« on: July 06, 2009, 08:50:49 am »

Hi,
Thought I'd give 40D13 a crack and I've run into a bit of a bug.
Load up a Dwarf Fortress game.
Hit d to designate something.
Click once in the game window, then move the mouse over a menu item in the designation menu. The mouse will automatically select the first item it touches.
Its like the left mouse button gets stuck down if you click in the game window and won't let go until you mouse over the menu.
This can be further exhibited by selecting 'Chop Trees' and using the mouse to select trees to chop down. You onyl need click once and just mouse over trees until your blue in the face.

Confirmed.

'Cept I don't have to click at all for the mouse button to appear "stuck."

As soon I go to the 'd'esignate menu the mine option (d) is automatically selected and I end up scrawling all over my fort unless I've already moved the cursor to where the menu box will pop up.

Further, so long as the cursor is over the RH menu box I can use the direction keys & enter for bulk selection as per normal, but as soon as the mouse moves back over the main screen...  AARGH!

Edit: on a closer look, it almost seems like the keyboard isn't being polled at all (probably 'cos of the "stuck mouse-button thing") when the cursor is over the main window.  I can't switch designations or hit space to exit the window until the cursor is moved back over the text box.  Oddly enough, Esc & the cursor keys work fine...  ::)

Same problem.
Thanks for moving it to the top of the list.
I stopped gening worlds when I learned how to paint them so this release has  a mixed flavor for me.
On the other hand the Macro feature is made of infinite win.

I have this problem to. It seems that the left mouse button is held down when its not. I can't use the mouse to do anything from the "d" menu. Has any progress been made?

I get it, too.  It's very annoying, since I use the mouse to quickly designate the bedroom areas and for following veins and the like.

Another not-very-useful "me too". I also have trouble getting OUT of mouse selection. I have to switch to another window and back to get the mouse to quit scrawling.
