Phantom walks out to the area where the large battlehip is, but immediately runs back inside due to a very large cannon firing at him
"Screw this im getting a drink."
Phantom gets three bottles of beer
"This one taste like crap, this one tastes like a bear, this one tastes like a normal beer but better, ah what the hell."
Phantom mixes the three beers together and takes a drink
"Now it tastes like a bear crapping while drinking beer"

[Little]

Anthony stands and wraps Sofia in a tight hug, hand straying down onto her ass.

"Hey. I'm Anthony. Nice to meet you. Didn't know Little still went for girls."

[deadlycairn]

[PSEUDO-human?]

"Shit!"

Waking up from an apparent trance, Cairn cancels the Darkroom and barrels out of the bedroom yelling back to Little.

"Some other time! The Empaths are watching me and Deadly! I shoulda known not to trust the Orders!"

Still swearing to himself, Cairn runs to the bar. Quickly, he grabs a bottle of alcohol and takes a massive swig, only to be nearly knocked off his seat as Deadly barrelled past, roaring his hunger. With a snarl, Deadly raced outside, before pouncing on the nearest vaguely edible thing and ripping it into shreds. Cairn, meanwhile, takes the time to admire the new visitors.

"Hah! Lessee the Empaths read me mind NOW! Wait who are you?

...what the hell has happened while I was in the Darkroom?"

[Phantom]

Phantom walks over to cairn
"Wanna know what happened here, or outside, or both?"

[TheNewerMartianEmperor]

"Dear sweet gods man! Put on some clothing! I think I'm gonna throw up again!"

[Gunner-Chan]

Sofia glares at Anthony.

"... Get off me before I tear your head off asshole."

[deadlycairn]

[... He never took off his clothing, so I'm just going to ignore that]

"Looks like outside is more important - I can count at least four armies. Deadly will have a field day"

Meanwhile, Deadly is doing just that - the Feral si still in control, but its power is lessening. Still, a hunt is a hunt, and Deadly isn't gonna stop 'til there's nothing edible and unfriendly left.

Suddenly, Cairn pauses. A vein in his forehead twitches, and jerkily, he takes another swig of alcohol.

"Goddamn Empaths. Always sticking their noses into other people's business."

[Phantom]

"Well, some space marines, chaos marines, terrans, zerg, and various other forces duked it out, hell the terrans brought in a custom battleship."

[TheNewerMartianEmperor]

"I fought as well. And please, put some pants on, Deadly!"

[Phantom]

Thank god I can only see thermal figures through this visor

[deadlycairn]

"I'm not even going to ask what those forces are - GAH! Get out of my head!"

Moaning to himself, Cairn clutches his poor aching skull. He manages to take another swig, and the pain subsides somewhat.

"Put on some... pants? I never took off me clothes. But since you ask."

Black ooze seeps out of Cairn's skin, until he is once again covered by his Shadeskin robes

[Phantom]

"What the hell? Is that a zergling behind you?!"

[TheNewerMartianEmperor]

"Better. Barely. So, why the unhappiness?"

[Little]

Anthony takes two steps back, still smiling.

"Lit always did like the feisty ones." A grin, "So do I."


Little stretches, coming out of the corridor while wiggling back into her blouse. Redoing the button on her jeans, she looks up to see Anthony retreating from Sof. She smiles.

"Anthony! Good to see you!"

[deadlycairn]

"I'm sure Deadly told you about the Empaths. That's his job. Lousy slacker. Any way, the Empaths read minds - better ones can influence them. They're the watchdogs of Sanctuary - the police, the tax collectors, the security. Before Sanctuary was established, they were preyed upon, being weak in combat. But now, their powers are very useful to the Orders"

Cairn stops and takes another swig

"You can generally tell when an Empath is reading you - it hurts. Only another Empath, an Auramancer, or... other things can stop an Empath reading your mind. For us common folk, the best method is to misdirect. Make the mind harder to read. That's why I'm drinking this - harder to read a drunken mind, its all over the place. The Empath knows I'm covering up something, but not what I'm covering up. Which serves me well for now, although I'm screwed later."

Meanwhile, Deadly has finally regained consciousness. That doesn't mean he's going to stop. Oh no - he's still hungry.
