My masterwork obsidian swords are better than that PoS

That may or may not be true.

It's 100% unclear whether artifact weapons (and armor) have a modifier greater than "masterful" (200%), and what it is if it is greater.  Only evidence is by observation, but once you have champion-level military with any "master" weapon, it's pretty much "one shot city" if you hit the torso, and a limb is coming off otherwise, so it's hard to really see a diff between "cut in half" and "REALLY cut in half!".

 Unless he goes up against a mega-beast, it's all same same.  He slices, he dices - overkill is just flash.
