I did start with Noble Heir.  I did exactly what I do with all of my knights, except I left r&w and the talking skills alone, and I gave him a low int and charisma.  Manorial Lord is available as his final profession, but knight is not.

Another History Lesson from Darklands:

Obviously, Knights of the Renassance Era needed Intelligence and Charisma, but Manorial Lords needed neither... ::)

It's a weird game, good luck leading us into certain doom to the betterment of Renassance Germany!

I don't think it's Renaissance, I'm pretty sure it's Dark Ages.  The luck is accepted, though.

I wish to request a place on the waiting list. (I'm using the same character as last time)
My character:
Name: Heinrich
Social class: Noble
Age & Occupation: 25 year old knight. Max strength and endurance so I will live for as long as possible. I don't really care how you distribute the rest of the points.
Skills: Maxed edged weapons, stealth and streetwise. Spend the rest of the points however you like.

Well then. A manorial lord is just as good as a knight when it comes to stab-crush-burn time.

Alright, characters are being genned.

EDIT:  Alright, he's a knight.  Apparently he needed a few of the extra points devoted to virtue.

Name: Gaweir Orsidious
Social Class: Noble
Age: 27 year old Knight. Very High Strength and Endurance. Some points go towards Charisma. Evenly distribute the rest I guess.
Skills: High Edged Weapons, and decent riding, and at least some into Polearms for CAVALRY CHARGES.
Background: A Teutonic knight of the Rhineland, a fearsome fighter who attempts to defend the helpless, but most of all King and Country, so long as said King is of good blood, and just cause, and the kingdom is deserving of his fighting. Prefers to ride the charge right into the enemy, skewering them upon a lance, and if that fails, a bastard sword to the neck is the next best choice!

Gaweir at some point, I hope will be a horseman, because honestly, the original plan of the first Darklands I was apart of, I wanted to be sort of like this:

So yes, a very Germany-like background and setting, very fun setting indeed. And a touch of fantasy never harmed anyone. THIS ^, with a dragon involved? Raise shields and plunge into its fire born heart.

THE ADVENTURE BEGINS
lolformatting

You start out in the Dumhof, Paderborn's inn.

As the most talky, Sir Francis is the leader.

Hotels, the group's alchemist and intellectual suggests an academic approach to the obtainment of glory.  Namely, obtain trainers and stay at the inn, learning and making money from the occasional odd job until you no longer have enough to stay at the inn.  I couldn't get a screenshot of this because my mouse is very sensitive and clicked even though I wasn't touching it.

Sir Francis suggests a more direct approach, hunting down the thieves and bandits that prowl the streets at night, as well as trying to learn about tasks the aristocracy may have for you.  It should be noted that the merchants will be unlikely to trust you with dangerous(But extremely lucrative) tasks unless you've already proven yourselves with easier things.

Xavier suggests the group sells some expensive things it doesn't need and then purchase better equipment for all.

A more complete list of things you can do is as follows:

Stay here and get jobs.  Your job is based on your best skill, and pay is based on skill in that.  The money may or may not be enough to make a profit against the cost of staying at the inn.

Check the inn's bulletin board for information.

Stay at the inn and try to buy a horse, for some reason.

Head to the markets and fill your cravings at the Circus of Values.

Find a quiet place to wait for nightfall and do shadier things.

Go to the castle.

Go to the political center of the city

Go to the Cathedrals and churches.

Go to the docks.

Character Information will be put on the first page.  Choose your destiny.

I was like, ha, this looks like a pretty dumb and boring game. I was so wrong. Gentlemen, I have discovered true fun.

Checking the bulletin board doesn't really need the full group's approval, it can be done quickly and isn't involved.  The whole group will need to decide if they want to do any beating up of doods, though.

The Bulletin Board displays the following:

No one in the town seems to have heard anything interesting lately, and the town itself is just as boring.  It's like the town knows you're looking for adventure and is going dormant to spite you.  The only thing you learn is that a certain well-placed personage is hiring freelancers.  However, as a pack of nobodies, whoever it is doesn't seem to be interested in hiring you.

WHAT DO YOU DO NOOOOOW?!

I recommend selling worthless junk and taking small jobs. Try to make a profit? How do you raise your skills?

Yeah, let's do that until we can afford some better stuff. THEN we kill doods.

Take jobs. We must earn money to fund our kill-slaying path!

((Also, WorkerDrone. Kind of odd. I wanted my knight to be 27 years old. But then I saw the part about age going in multiples of 5 so I bumped up to 30)).
