"Why won't you die damnit!"

Beating this game on superhuman has become a life goal of mine. There is no doubt that this is one of the more difficult games that I have ever played. You all now get to witness the glory of victory or the humiliation of defeat. I will update this LP until I beat the game once and for all or become extremely frustrated and just send everyone out on a mission with no weapons and watch the carnage whilst laughing at their doom.

You can name an aquanaut for yourself. I actually look foward to it because with a meaningful name behind a solider I may think twice before sending troops out in complete suicide missions. You just better hope I like you  ;) There is a catch though. Not everyone can have an aquanaut that just wants to blow things up. To ensure maximum success there must be a mixture of troops. Everyone who wishes to sign up for duty will have an equal amount of opportunity to die fight. Everyone will be cloned unless there are more than 14 people who sign up. Then I'll have a waiting list and move people in and out. I'll always clone myself though; one of the perks for being the C.O.

Most aquanauts will be your run-of-the-mill riflemen. There will be ample suplies available for those who wish to have heavy weapons. There will also be a couple of troopers that will have mind control once it is researched. There might not be enough space for everyone to have grenades or melee/stun weapons that will take care of the more fearsome foes (i.e. Lobstermen). If the game wasn't so hard on superhuman I wouldn't be so strict on weapon usage.

To make this easier on me I wish for those who wish to participate to follow this format. I'll use myself as an example.

2. Heavy Weapon
3. Mind Control

I now present to you...

What types of weapons are there? I have never played one of these. PUT DORGON INTO THERE, please?

I want mind control eventually (read: after I die when we have it researched),
but are medics any good at all?

There won't be any dedicated medics. There will be a a few medkits though. Not enough for everyone.

http://ufopaedia.org/index.php?title=Main_Page has everything regarding X-COM games. Does contain spoliers so be careful where you look. There are weapons to kill, weapons to stun, and weapons to blow everything up. I'll start you off as a rifleman until M.C. is researched.

Would be nice to get another 10 people or so before I start later this afternoon.

Give anyone who is strong enough gas cannons, huh?  That sounds like a plan.

If you have a aquanaut with 37+ strength, I would like to see the following:

Weapon: Gas cannon; with HE rounds
extra incendiary clip for use during night missions.

2 magma grenades
1 proximity mine
1 gauss pistol with clip.
1 medicpack.

tactic: get to high ground, use Aimed shot to fire HE rounds across the map.

Tactic2: drop the Gas cannon, equip pistol and medipack when assaulting the USO.

That [Magma] is a bit deep down there, don't you think?
You really aren't thinking like a dwarf.

If you think it is down too far, you move it up until it reaches an acceptable elevation.

I'm betting all of my internets that the first encounter will be a disaster.
Hmm. I'll take an aquanaut. The name is Asheron, the gender is male and make him a cookie-cutter rifleman.

Did you just post a bunch of vegi-dicks on my board?  I've been trying to combat forum devolution a bit, and that involves fewer vegi-dicks!

Yes, random is funny, isn't it? Sometimes I set up a random number generator when I need a good laugh.
