Need Megaproject ideas

Ok, I have thoroughly mastered DF as is and I need something for my dwarves to do. I am open to any megaproject idea and my resources are: magma, water, magma proof stone, wood, over 100 dwarves in need of work. (basic supplies such as food are a given)

Tower, enormous gateway, (semi-)automated gobbo/noble/elf/unwanted creature elimination chamber, mining out everything but your fortress and flooding everything around it, magma cannon, giant ((cast) obsidian) statue, all of the above.

You can always try to make a competing airship.

Can you match or beat the mighty engineering of the Bloodfist (AKA- Armok's Gauntlet)?

Or a giant tree out of Elf bones.

Dwarven statistics: When something is considered unlikely, the presence of dwarves increases the likelyhood of the unusual event occuring.

GENERATION 29:
The first time you see this, copy it into your signature on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.

Besides, it's somehow enjoyable to think of groundhogs stacked to the very top of a cage and flooding out to kill.

For giggles, make it capable of crying magma, too.
Ooh, to make it more awesome, have it so the tear ducts operate in sequence using floodgates and pressure switches.

It can be either inside the structure itself ala dual valve (as one hits a switch, it opens the other and vice-versa; would take a while to work out the logistics, but it would be possible and cool looking), or you can have a cat randomly hitting the switches.

Something like this:

Trigger Operation:
4  3  2  1

1L~3L 2L 4L   Right Eye  (Starter socket begins with some fluid halfway in like so in order to
O=========O      Source      keep a consistent pattern (manual over-ride may be required for this))
1R 3R 2R 4R  Left Eye
O=========O


3L and 3R may be dual-linked to the source instead.

Each pressure switch opens and closes the door in front of it in a 3-step cycle. The ones on the far end open/close the ones connected to the source. Hopefully with this setting (including the space before it) would allow proper size droplets as well as a proper sequence of operation.

Feel free to make adjustments.

It's just a concept; it may require a separate timer room with probably gates leading to individual switches using the same pipeline.

I'm liking this idea. Need to figure out some specifics on how to get the tears to work, but I can have it switch over to magma tears when there is a siege in order to flood the world with magma ;D

EDIT: Oh wait, maybe have the magma come out of the dwarf's mouth, so he vomits magma :D

Make some crazy magma(lava) trap for the goblins.

Wait for them to come.

Create a monolith out of normal stone, but stain it red with gratuitous amounts of kittens and violence.

I tried to start a tower made only of green glass blocks, you can make a ton of them when you have sand and magma.  Never finished it, took too long and I got bored.

Construct an obsidian monolith in an area where rhesus macques are dominant and always around and watch them evolve. ;D

Create a Dwaven Highway.

Literally, that is - route all incoming traffic to your map on a ridiculous highway road that leaves them open to plenty of potshots by everything from archers to ballastae to bridge-a-pult garbage bombardment. For even more fun, rig it so that the Dwarven Highway itself is a bridge-a-pult in several sections, and see if you can launch things (goblins are easy - wagons laden with stone blocks and Megabeasts are another matter) off the map. And of course, there should be at least one section that drops things into a Hell Moat, and the more Z-Levels the drop is, the better!

Or else do what I'm doing, and make Fortress: Dwarf. Wall off the outside of the map so that no matter where anything comes onto the map at, there's only one place they can actually access you and your dorfs from. Then build a defensive castle at that spot. Bonus points if you, like me, can rig that location so that the trade depot is suspended above the magma pipe in such a way that, at your discrection, you can choose to either strange the traders there and let them kill each other by going insane, or drop them straight into the pipe if you'd prefer to just get rid of them for good. Ideally, your dwarves should be able to freely walk the interior of the map no matter how many goblins, humie scum or elven cannibals are sieging outside. Even better if you build glass animal alarm systems so that a chained animal will alert you to the passing of anything Hidden by sighting it, but that the Hidden creatures cannot access and kill the animal. Even more Fun can be had if you exclusively chain female cats into a 1x1 pit and leave a tom walking around the map somewhere. (Eventually, you will find it nessessary to engineer a Cat Pasting Device to smash the horde of kittens.)
