Magmaproofing my dragons
« on: July 02, 2009, 09:35:04 pm »

I know there is a thread on this, I know it is in the wiki, but I can't find it for the life of my. What do I set the heatdamn and such to?

Is this right?
Code: [Select]
[HEATDAM_POINT:13000]
[IGNITE_POINT:13500]

Not sure-is it the same as fire imps heat dam point? That's what I do anyway, just copy paste the whole entry for the fire imp's heatdam.

From Mr. Welch's 1350 things he is not allowed to do in a RPG:
148. There is no Gnomish Deathgrip, and even if there was, it wouldn't involve tongs.
171. My character's dying words are not allowed to be "Hastur, Hastur, Hastur"
218. No matter my alignment, organizing halfling pit fights is a violation.
231. I am not allowed to do anything that would make a Sith Lord cry.
240. Any character with more than three skills specializing in chainsaw is vetoed.

Should work.  I set mine to about that and I haven't seen any die from magma (or their own breath) yet.

To make my dragons fire proof I removed STANDARD_FLESH and replaced HOMEOTHERM:10040 with:
Code: [Select]
[HEATDAM_POINT:12600]
[IGNITE_POINT:13000]
[MELTING_POINT:13500]

Which seems to work.

The temperature of magma is 12106 dwarf scale, so just keep all three of those tags above that.

The [STANDARD_FLESH] tag defaults a lot of temperature-related tags, which can be overwritten later in the creature entry. Instead of removing it, you might want to put it somewhere before the heat-resistance-related tags, as fire imps do.
