Wow, that was an interesting fight.

Urist: *smacks Diego around with his hammer* Is that the best you can do?!
Diego: *big anime-style power-up sequence with big glowing flames and stuff swirling around his body* Don't make me laugh! Now I'll show you my true power! *charges at Urist, ignoring his blows and knocking him over, then swings and shatters his shield-arm*
Urist: *jumps away* My shield! Curse you... *powers up with bigger, different-colored flames* It will take more than that to defeat me!! *knocks Diego down, then bashes him across the arena and charges after him while swinging wildly* GRAAAAAAAAAARR!!!!!! *delivers the killing blow to Diego, then somehow does it twice more from different angles and in slow motion*
Diego: How...? Where did you get....that power? *explodes in a massive fireball, as Urist silently turns his back and holsters his war hammer*
Surviving Audience: HOORAY!

Yeah, I think that may have just been the best fight ever.

Urist McUrist proves himself worthy after his loss to underdog Nichaey in defeating Labs to become the only 2nd Degree Swordsdwarf in the group of 8, and earning 200☼ while he’s at it. Will the sword continue to dominate? We’ll see.

I believe Ravus Maniacus to be one of the better ‘losers’ of these prelim fights, and since Remalle appears to be away Ravus can take his place.

Though I wasn’t surprised at the ending, Ravus put up a hell of a fight and continued to fight and do damage with a skewered hand. Kesham becomes the 2nd 2nd Degree Speardwarf and earns 200☼.

If you notice, Keshams last name reverted to what it was before at the end of the fight. Argh.

Vulcar – Lost to Rysith in the Semi-finals of the Phoenix Opening.
ToonyMan – Lost to Rysith in the Quarter-finals of the Phoenix Opening, redeemed himself by defeating Ravus Maniacus.
Nanothnir – Lost to Vulcar in the Quarter-finals of the Phoenix Opening, redeems himself by defeating Barbaros “The Destroyer”.
Flint – New arrival, is undefeated with wins over Olon “Workerdrone” and Led Warleach.
Urist McHammerdwarf – New arrival, is undefeated with wins over Damug “The Berserker” and Diego “The Smasha”.
Urist McUrist – Lost to Nichaey in the Quarter-finals of The Phoenix Opening, redeemed himself by defeating Labs.
Kesham – New arrival, is undefeated with wins over Deathlord and Ravus Manicus.

Two of these dwarves will be chosen to duke it out in the Phoenix Amphitheater (commentated). The winner will fight Rysith for a shot at Fireheart and his WoA Championship (and Swordsdwarf Championship if this dwarf is a swordsdwarf). I’m still undecided on how to go about choosing the two dwarves, but for the time being I ask everyone to let me know if they want to spend their winnings, thanks.

I only have abculatter's choices for Urist McUrist left but I think I can say already that this is too tough a call for me. That's why you're going to choose 

When I get everyones choices in i'll be making a poll for those eight dwarves and you'll get to vote for who you think should fight. The first poll will have all eight, then i'll reset it and make a final poll with the top four of the previous poll. The top two of that one will fight.

The difference in equipment from a 1st Degree Warrior and a 2nd Degree Warrior can be quite large. For the interest of making an informed decision i'll make a post listing the equipment for each of the dwarves.

I think that the choice should be made in the bloodsoaked Arena as it was in the Opening.

The way I see it the whole point of the WoA is to pit Dwarves against each other and let the more skilled/lucky/etc move on.

A poll to choose would break the honor of the fights.
