Stating old news but...this game is so much harder than the first one. I was playing my first mission and lost about 11 guys because of one alien and then everyone starts panicking. It seems as if the aliens have better sight than humans. Realistic in a way but really annoying because I keep getting everyone killed and having to start over.

Correct Taniec!
TFTD is Hell.

Everyone remember the ship missions? Thousands of containers and small rooms...aliens with 100% accuracy reaction shots :o

Rumor has it that X-Com 1 is bugged to where the difficulty was always set to easy. The same rumor states that X-Com 2 is bugged to always be set to superhuman. It also states that people complained about X-Com 1 being too easy, so all the difficulties for X-Com 2 were increased.

It's a plausible rumor to most anyone who's played TFTD.

xcomutil fixes the difficulty bug. I can beat the first game no problem on Superhuman but on Veteran TFTD kicks my ass and then some.

OK, i gots full FRAPS.

happy now?

theres just the one problem. it will not work with X-com, it seems to work even with DWARF FORTRESS, and Phun Physics, but oddly, not Xcom, it may be something to do with the Dosbox that the game runs in, but if anyone has experienced something similar, please, PLEASE answer me, i really would like to do this Lets Play, but its impossible while i cannot get the game to be recorded.

PLEASE answer this, i know ive sounded whiny, but i really would like to get this made...

ill give you a cookie?

Meh, I'll join this too.

Name: Muz
Starting weapon: Harpoon gun/sonic pistol
And lots and lots of grenades, of course.
The starting human grenades are weak enough to cripple a lot of the early aliens without destroying stuff, so they're cool :) I love that the smoke grenades are quite cheap too.
No dart gun, though. Dart guns can't even kill humans.

Remember the plan.. I smoke out the entrance, prime an explosive one, and lob it in once the door is open, then you guys go pew pew on what's left.

You could ask WorkerDrone...

Not sure if it applies to your version though.

Would anyone care if I made my own LP for TFTD? I have never beaten this game yet. I would be using screenshots but would be willing to wait a few weeks for people to finish their other ones if need be.

There's always room and time for another X-COM LP!

That's the prevailing attitude on the internet. Will this game ever truly doe?

For as long as there are forums, there will be X-COM.  It's got some magic combination of fear, entertainment, personality, and accessibility.  Pity the Internet could support graphical forums in 1994, or MicroProse might still be around.
