Skaltum: You mean perhaps SparkGear 3? [SHAMELESS PLUGIN]
It's going fine. ArkDelgato did the impossible and stopped the tantrum spiral that followed from Barbarossa's little charge against the orc siege. The fort looks like it'll survive.

We are on a river. With those kinds of things.

Maybe we should give bonuses for capturing and taming carp?

Alright, the map is uploaded here: http://www.mkv25.net/dfma/viewmap.php?mkv_logout=true&view_mapid=6299

Will the scores from the judges be posted publicly, or will each judge send their scores via PM? If the latter option, then will there be any space for comments, some of which can be listed when the scores are revealed, or should they be posted in some fashion after scoring (or, indeed, omitted altogether)?

I don't have any issue with judge scores and comments being public, and I'm not about to omit folks ability to comment on what they liked/disliked about the fort. I would like to keep votes private until Judging is finished though, so they don't influence one another.

So the ranking system will be like
[Fortnamehere][playernamehere]

Creativity:4
Defenses:2
Industry:5
Organization:3
[fixed points from objective qualities]

overall score:21
Then you average all overall scores?

More or less, but all judges Defenses scores, Industry scores, etc. will be averaged for a given fort, so that they get an idea of what areas were considered the Fortress' strengths, and what were its weaknesses.

Hey can he have it have carp for extra challenge?

Oh, there will be Carp... and more. Trust me on this.

Dont mind me, just posting here to keep myself updated. I might jump in on a later challenge though.

Oh, i have an idea too. Some of the challenges might revolve around certain mods, such as the better goblins mod, and we see how well people can survive.

Hey, look over there! A bird! Why not stare at that bird whilst I make an awesome fortress?
Answer: Because my fortresses suck ):

Anyway. More seriously, huzzah! To work!

Grimlocke unleashes a roar, fell and terrible!

Anyways, my dwarfs all survived my first season, and I even got some work done! Now to hope I can finish my evil plans in the remaining 19 seasons.

Oh, since this is a first-time deal, and the rules are still being adjusted:
If Contetstants end up being faster than expected, or things end up taking far longer, I'd be cool with extending the in-game time limit by a few years.  Folks would all have to come to a consensus though. I don't want one slip up (IE the Mining incident) to ruin someone's shot at a win.

I do not like your jack of all trades master of none dwarves  :( Also, these monkies are evil little thieving bastards that attack the sleeping infirm planters my fortress, which they wounded in the first place. My woodcutter has killed about three troupes of them now.

Oh how fun, my overseer got carped.

Why the blazes was he the woodcutter... oh well, he wasnt essential for the project. Sucks that he dropped my only axe in the river though. At least I have a reason to rerout it now.
