May I remind you that you're going to play to DF? There's always something that goes horribly wrong! :D

well horribly wrong to me... I wasn't talking about something going horribly wrong wonderfully right with my dwarves!

No, I think the cook would be in charge of sugar-coating the cows.

You are a lifesaver! Round and probably in tropical flavors.

Hmmm, looks like my plans will take longer then I first thought...
First couple of tries ended with me PC lossing the Save some how, can't remember...

Are we able to adjust the Max Pop, just cause that is slowing me down on the growth side of things. (Ie. Nobles)
What else are we allowed to adjust...

ok, late autumn 5th year, but even though I pop capped at 60 (and have 64), I ran the last season at 8-15fps. Urgh.

Paving a temple in bauxite blocks takes a surprisingly long time!

I'm still on a casualty count of 1 - every one of my dwarves is so hard that my mechanic (with no skill wrestiling and without armour) fought off 2 ambushes single-handedly.

Also, I've got 10 artefacts, including a bed, statue, bag, millstone and throne. :D

I'll finish tomorrow, at which point I'll need to get someone to take my savefiles and convert them to maps for me, because I can't persuade the compressor to work on kubuntu.

Hell, just kill the damn nobles. Make a nice 'mausoleum of the fatally annoying' and turn it into one of your projects.

Hmm, not a bad idea given my recent Barony...

Up until the last goblin siege, all my casualties were due to nobles and carp.

I guess we should have a vote amongst the players to see who else is short on time?

Personally im about to finish in time, so its no problem for me.

I'll have something at year 5, but I could also go longer and try and get my original plan done. Would probably take 2 more years, however.

echoed here,
My plans require a lot of Stone blocks so theres a lot of that being cut.
I think each layer requires at minimum around 900blocks per floor...
And I got 12 or so floors to build and thats just one of the main things,
Lets see.
Projects...
1 Bridge
2 Main Construction
3 Gate Houses - Floored and Manned
4 Legendary Areas
5 Bridge Supports and Beautification...

2 and 5 are the main problem for time for me...
Need another year or two to get 2 down and I still have trouble making dry spots to build under water... Ugh...

That's not entirely fair to the other players.  I set up projects that I knew I could complete in 5 years, and most of them aren't really expandable.  Compared to projects that were more elaborately planned, my stuff is going to look crappy (though it might just look crappy anyway).

Hey I thought I could do it too.
But there was this annoying fact of Nobles come and killing 'half' my work force cause I couldn't make this or that...
Then the Gobbos came and wiped the rest of my fortress out. Gah...
I had 20 Champs and still they got wiped out. Perhaps if I had made more booze...

(Would you believe it, just after I posted last time, Goblin Siege... 30 of them. Well it at least felt like 30... Monkeys set of cage traps and goblins walked right past them shortly after...)

Ok! Finished! My save files are here: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=1204

If someone could go inside each save file, compress the map and upload it, I would be forever indebted.

My 5 projects are:
The dam on the small river (pathetic, but hey).
The full adder prototype 2 z-levels below the dam (slightly less pathetic, was quite difficult to implement)
        >see the wiki article on computing to explain what this is
The fortress
The submerged dining (go down to the very bottom)
The temple to armok (the last tile was laid down on obsidian 17th, which was cutting it pretty fine)

Also, things I'm proud of:
Farmhand 1 is a skilled cheesemaker
I have a fort that pretty much runs on sunshine
All the statues on my bridge and in the temple are masterful and encrusted seevral times
I have wolf cubs, fox cubs, but no rhesus macaque children yet.
