1st of 1001 – Early Spring – Our First Year
Plans for Spring –
Well then, as you might have guessed, we have been charged with building a Fortress Spans the Breath of the Mighty River, The Sable Lock. Sometimes I wonder if they understand what it is they think we are. I was told it was to form a more defiant Fortress against the mass of Goblins that plague our world, there are many to that end as well.
On pulling up the Wagon short against the cliff that drops down to the might River we noticed that a small Stream runs into it not far from were we stopped, stopping the Fisher before he went a feed himself to the Carp we began to dig into the Soil for create our bass camp. We plan to make it efficient and such so that we can spend less time moving around it and more time on this construction project, after all this is the Goal and we do only have so many years to complete it…
Oh well, Strike the Earth, else we will be standing here all day…

Before Late Spring
We finally completed the major parts of our Base Camp, everything is moving along smoothly and at an efficient pace, though there are a few that still have little to do, problem to be solved shortly.
The following is as such…
Ground Floor – Here is where the Bridge will move out from, there is need for Claystone Blocks so anyone that isn’t doing a job will begin to be building these blocks. Around the entrance to the Base Camp is actually a Rough stone wall partway through construction, this will funnel those that wish to enter in a simple way and easy to control method…
-1 Floor – This is our Farms and Storehouse, the Farms consist of 6 4x5 plots that are able to grow each of the 6 crops that are produced by our kind. This will begin to grow in number as the seasons pass. To the east (and soon west) is that of our Storehouse for trade goods, the East is that of Stone and Bone Goods such as Mugs and Totems and to the West will be the location for our Tailors goods…
-2 Floor – This is the Floor where all construction work is located, everything from the Kitchen and Still to the Mason Workshops located down the middle. Some of the Workshops have not been completed due to the limited number of skills that we possess but soon that shall not be a problem…
-3 Floor – Here is were we live and feed, two food stockpiles with connecting stairs to their Workshop is located, Booze on the Left, Food on the right. South of that is our Dinning Room that spans the distance across in a Oval shape, this will look mighty fine when completed and smoothed down…
Further south of that is the Capsule Apartments, there is two one on the left and one on the right, though only the left has been completed for now, no point making more then needed…
As you go down further and further there will more and more Quarries located below the Base Camp but that has not been started yet…

Sweet a Coal Mineral, this will boost our production of Weapons and Equipment when the time comes…

Such a simple Gem found the next day, so far this is a rich Mountain and that’s not even going anywhere near the eroded minerals that have been revealed by Mother Nature herself…

Plans for Summer –
Well the first Season passed without a hitch, things are moving swiftly, so far nearly everything has been constructed that needed to be constructed at the moment, As Spring passed into Summer, our Architect is working their way through some jobs in the Carpenter’s workshop but soon will be moved to work on some Chairs and Tables for the Dinning hall. When those have been completed the Overseer will begin to do some paper work but until then they are going to be doing the odd hauling Job between each felling of the trees above…
The Crafter is busy in their workshop making us some stone goods to trade. The Fisher has finally been released on the watery inhabitants of the Pools on the surface, he knows not to go near the Stream just yet. The Cook and Miner are busy mining away at the Quarry and have found some good gems and minerals so far, hopefully that will continue before Food becomes our main concern. Mean while the Farmer has begun to plant all the new crops so this shall be a bountiful season…

We finished the first Quarry, and what finds did we discover, we are taking the Cook off of Mining Duties cause right now while he is the best miner, we need to eat, gonna have the Real Miner dig out some Workshop space so he himself can Rival the Cook. Hang your head in shame…

A long vein leads into the Cliff face from where we noticed the beginning of it. This along with the Lignite will be welcome addition when our Blacksmith starts up….

Plans for Autumn –
Summer has come and gone with not much happening. This Autumn we hope to advance enough to attract more to our fortress which will allow us to move forward with the planned construction, but the end of Autumn we hope to begin to carve out the second Capsule apartment…

The Caravan and Liaison arrived today. The Overseer and Liaison are locked up in his Office now discussing the future and stuff. ALSO the Architect has been slack and failed to construct the Deport in time, always finding something else to do. And here I thought I had suspended all of his jobs. Ugh…
(Just noticed that I hadn’t activated the Building Design Job on him, really don’t call him an Architect

Plans for Winter –
Huzzar, we have begun the first step towards the Bridge, Stone blocks should be constructed while the season passes and everything should move smoothly. With the extra hands around the place we will be moving forward faster hopefully.

Not much got done, the Jewelers that came in the Migrant wave have cut the gems that we had laying around and have been helping by cutting stone for use in the Bridge's construction. The apartment has been finished though the replacement walls are taking some time to be finished.

With the new Apartment needed to be carved for the new Migrants that had arrived a month before, we began to carve out the area only around winter, but it came with a bountiful reward, Magnetite an Attractive Iron Ore, lets smelt them puppies… I mean the Ore, oh you are sick…
