Ah good to know, but you mustn't use Zones to make a 'Barn' area for them, I don't pull down the Wagon in things where its close to the fortress due to the fact I normally empty them straight away and there is nothing really important to 'steal' from them, then there is the 20odd animals around it if I don't get to making some cages for the offspring...

But then again I wonder how many cats would Catisplode my PC, it runs at around 500capped... And that's when I play Dwarfs, when I mod humans, gods can you talk speedy... (something close to 800FPS.)

Besides, in one fortress (lost the save) I had a Mule Kick a Kobold across the River and a good distance, would have probably gone off screen if it weren't for that cliff face...

I just found out that water washes small creatures away a lot more quickly then larger ones, thats proly what happened. I guess my constructions are a bit unsafe... well, very unsafe I guess :P

It wasnt fish, those are all dead safe for one carp who allways stays way upstream.

My cheesemaker went down there too a while ago... he survided but couldnt even drown because the fish ate him.

I guess I'd be the guy with the least deaths, seeing as I only now got back from no computer land.

Am I the only one who has gone through 1.4 years without a single death or accident?

Looks like.

My attempt to pump a dry patch of riverbed for awesome was met with derision and laughter from the rivers diabolical pressure pathing.

Apparently if you have a
XXX
X-X
XXX
setup where X are squares drained by pumps, the middle square is _STILL_FLOODED_ with 7/7.
Now there's quality pathing for you.

I'm bringing this up because I just drowned my miner because of that little inconsistency of programming.
I'd be screaming "TOADY ONEEEE" if it had as many syllables as Khan.

First year! http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=1176 Here's the save file, not much to say apart from the starting lineup was comedy. I renamed and retasked them all, and I successfully bridged the gap by autumn, although it's not much yet. I'm making a shiny super-organised fort on the other side now. I'm thinking about carp farming, but I'm not sure how to preoceed with one. Any ideas?

Um, I haven't even butchered an Animal yet, so the only deaths in my fortress was a forced restart due to having two of the same game open (as I stated a few posts back).
Note to everyone, DF will hide on you if screensaver comes up, making you think you need to open it again and start from that last save. Guess when the resave that erased my work happened, thats right near the end of spring the first year...

Funny, my fort is quite the opposite of the poster above. Theres only 1 wild annimal left alive (some carp that got in my underground river), and about a dozen dead dwarfs. I just find that funny though, also, tallow soap rocks. Fort without incidents and death bore me rather quickly, so I just dont spend much attention at all on safety.

I think I may have killed all my annimals though, they havnt showed up for more then half a year. Do I need to kill that last carp, or did even annimals realise that my fort will get them turned into dwarven goods? Would like them to come back, need more soap and bones.

A carp tried to bite one of my miners. Bad luck, he got a good pick... :D

Question: what's the name for an one-eyed carp? ::)
