Nope. That's military, a militia is a military force formed from ordinary citizens. Although I don't know much about it, but I think the National Guard would be the militia.

From what I understand, there are many different ways of implementing militias based on needs they're fulfilling. In the case of emergency defense reserves, the Army Reserve, National Guard, etc. do just fine. However, in the case of a tyrant taking over, a non-government supported militia would be preferable. Both types and more are legal in the U.S., though non-government supported paramilitary organizations tend to be looked down upon as conspiracy theorists or gun nuts.

Also--technically, according to the Militia Act of 1903, everyone who is eligible for the draft is part of the "reserve militia" or unorganized militia (as opposed to the organized militia, which is made up of many different organizations). When the draft is activated, it's really the U.S. government saying "okay militia, time to go to work!" This is part of why people hate how the draft has been used in the past. It's supposed to be for the defense of the country, but more often it's used in aggressive campaigns.

Yep, some kind of control, imminent invasion or not, is better than seeing if someone can fog a mirror on a cold day.

Don't get me started on my neighbours. We have noisy neighbours on both side of our house. Ones reasonably friendly but has a penchant for loud parties and fireworks when everyone else is asleep. The other one is loud, obnoxious, hits his wife, blasts loud offensive music all the time and throws beer cans everywhere.

Oh and there are heaps of really little kids running around but they're just a nuisance.

You wouldn't imagine how hard it is for a dog to do drugs.  That's probably why they get so angry!
