Kill it with a utility

Surround it with 50,000 degree magma (as long as it's not floating over your dwarves or something)

Bring in some of those marksdwarves and shit.

Give them a ready supply of bolts.

Dig a pool of magma under the bat.

Mod the bat to have 50 brains.

Send in the marksdwarves.

No, it is not a Batman. It's a Giant Bat.

And yeah, I'll give it its brain back so it can comprehend the agony of its death.

I want it dead. I want its entire family dead. I want to see it slowly ripped apart by goblins, violated in every way it is possble for guro fetishists and Slaanesh Cultists to imagine and then perpetrate combined, and then I want to feast upon its soul, relishing its agony and screams for mercy.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Or something like that.

Note that I left out some depicting gore upon... the spot that nobody wants anybody touching. (Unless you're a pedo or something)

[HEATDAM_POINT:1]

Works for everything else. If that doesn't kill it, you're modifying the wrong raw, son. And if you're not confident, remove its attack (duh) so it can't hurt your dwarves, and find out if revenge brings a happy thought to dwarves who've lost a friend to tragedy.

If that's not good enough, just flood wherever it is. Or add water and magma simultaneously to encase it in obsidian (guaranteed kill against giant bats, skeletal giant cave spiders, Chuck Norris and Armok).

And if that isn't enough, remove EVERYTHING from the raws. So it has NO body parts. And see what happens. Put the save up for download also if nothing works, because then we can check for sure what you're doing wrong.

Man cheating is not the right way to go around handling hard stuff. Flood it with magma or something, but cheating is so undwarfy. If you want to modify the data to kill him and still do it in a dwarfy way, fill the chasm with kitties then cause the thermonuclear catsplosion, which most no longer view as a cheat but as just another enjoyable feature.

This man Giant Bat was not meant to be killed by a bullet anything.

This man Giant Bat was not meant to be killed by a bullet anything.

I would refrain from saying that until Morul and Ironblood have taken a crack at it; if it survives either or both of them, then we should all bow down before it.

Pics or it didn't happen.

The only time something refused to die was when i catapulted several orcs and humans alike. Two humans somehow got stuck in midair, they now can't be hurt by anything, they can't be touched, seen, heard, but they are there, floating.

I've been told somewhere in the raws Giant Bats are [BENIGN] or something by default. I had a problem with a giant bat flying through my fortress, and none of my military dwarves would attack it. They would only defend themselves even when set to harass dangerous wild animals.

Are you trying to mod the RAWs as you play? I know I've been in several facepalm moments because I forgot to start a new DF window so the new RAW's would kick in.

I've never had a problem taking out giant bats using even moderately skilled marksdwarves - 3 usually handle it (though 2 might only return).

if you've taken away its ability to fly, removed most of its vital organs and turned it into a thermonuclear bomb yet it's still just floating there alive, you might possibly have a bug on your hands.

Yes, taking away it's ability to fly while it is in mid air probably caused it to start a fall that it will never end.  Give it it's flying ability back.

Dwarf Fortress is Minesweeper with attitude.  In both games you are uncovering squares and just waiting for it to blow up in your face.  At least in DF you have tiny bearded and smiling avatars to torture on your descent to fun.

Yeah, always make sure you SAVE the raws, then start up a NEW DF window.
