The buzz is indeed, blood rushing. Specifically, through your ears.

Or, it can also be muscles in your ears grinding to perceive sound.

There must be multiple buzzes. I am speaking of the Electronic Hum the wires in your house give off.

Also What is the "Train Noise" you can often hear when putting pressure on your ear?

I think you're talking about that pop that happens in your ears when you're riding in the subways or something.

Happens during fast speed travel, along with pressure changes (Going underground in a train). Usually, it gets mildly annoying due to the feeling of it, and that your ear stays "popped", and all sounds are drowned out. A lot like if you're underwater, you can still hear sounds, just not clearly.

Otherwise, you could be talking about the really irritating noise from trains, like when they pass by while you're waiting in a trainstation or something.

No I mean the sound like a distant train when you cup/fully cover your ear for a long time.

Do you live under high tension power lines or something?  I've never heard the wires in my house.  If I turn my overhead fan off it gets so quiet it's loud.

I guess people subconsciously tune it out but you can hear hums from almost everything in your house that use electricity. (Including ringing) including the lights and walls (where the wires go)

It goes on 24/7.

Shit.

Since I read this thread, I got the train-moving sounds in my ears when I cover my ear.

EVERYTIME.

That's because you know what it sounds like now. Before, you didn't know it sounded like a train. Because you didn't associate it with a train. But now you do.

I, knowing this phenomena, don't hear a train. I hear more of a rapid quiet thunderstorm. The sound of blood rushing through my ear and hand.

The only complete silence would be in outer space, and even that wouldn't be completely silent because you would be humming the theme to 2001: a space odyssey (you know you would do it, too)

Also, damn, I think I just hearing the electromagnetic (just typo it to electromagmatic :P ) hums here.

Or it may just be my hard drive.

Please let it be my hard drive.

Edit: Actually, I don't hear trains... I heard desert winds! Or Solar flares... :P

I dunno, doesn't it seem like when you see something really shocking happen right in front you, that your brain just shuts down everything but your heart and eyes?

I'm not being literal, it just seems like that.

I actually sometimes hear the silence... don't know, perhaps I am just accustomed to humming.

Did you just post a bunch of vegi-dicks on my board?  I've been trying to combat forum devolution a bit, and that involves fewer vegi-dicks!

But you can't hum in space if you're asphyxiating.

Did anybody else know that even your skin needs oxygen? Plenty of people died of being covered completely in paint/dirt, despite having their nose completely revealed.
