Dwarven babies...They have beards too?
« on: June 26, 2009, 04:19:36 pm »

I noticed something damn hilarious, i was looking around my fortress and noticed a baby had a vomit splatter...On his BEARD. I lol'd for several minutes at the thought of a bald baby with a beard, but seriously for a moment.

What the carp?

stack of 10 prepared dragonfly brains - I'm trying to imagine what's more funny: a dwarf popping a tiny dragonfly brain into his mouth for a snack, the butcher who actually prepared this feast, or the brave hunter who ventured out into the wilderness and returned with this bounty.

That said, with Toady's new "Layer system" I'm pretty sure babies will have actual growing hair/facial hair soon enough

rules of Armok dictate, if the dwarf doesn't have a beard, its not a dwarf and must be tossed into MAGMA

Armok will have to change his rules next version then. :P

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

what really sucks is when a baby takes brain damage and runs away with the mother frantically chasing it.

I modded my game to include 'Beard' as an actual body part for Dwarves.

All dwarves are born with beards, they just grow longer as the dwarf ages.

The question is not whether they do or don't, it's the beard's length we're talking about.

I understand monkeys are born with hair all over their body. Assuming Dwarves evolve...they just didn't lose the face hair like human did.

It started raining, then all my dwarves outside started bleeding to death. On inspection their upper bodies were missing.
