I have always had a thing for sending waves of dogs after kobalds and the like but recently I managed to get a breeding pair of Giant Desert Scorpions.  I immediately chained them at the entrance and what do you know they tore through at least 10 goblins without being hurt.  Now I am wondering what other animals have people sent against invaders and what effect did they have??

The funny thing is it wasn't a immigrant the elves brought a male and a female in trading but i don't like elves so I just took them.  The elves never fought back and that was that.

Oh and I don't use any mods and my games not glitched just the plain new version.  Though where can I find the mod for orcs sounds interesting.

I bought a giant jaguar once. It was adopted by one of the dwarves and rushed into a goblin siege, it mangled one of the ugly fiend's arm but was struck down with relative ease.

Damn thing wasn't worth the money.

Make sure you put them around the corner. You don't want them to turn into pincushions by marksgoblins.
