The Numerous Trials of Creativity Hell
« on: June 25, 2009, 12:48:14 pm »

My Friend and I do this creative exercise I came up with and he suggested I post it on the Bay12 forums. Truman's Trials is based off this exercise.

You play a random nameless person. I start with a random setting. Example:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The person currently controlling the character decides what to do. I then procceed to describe what happens to the player because of his actions. Example:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

After each player dies the next person wanting to play starts in the same situation. Example:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The new player must avoid what killed the last player. After they pass that they must then try to avoid death as long as possible. Each player must avoid everything that killed the previous players. The more creative you get the better. But please don't be stupid and say things like "do a trippy hippy dance". My job is to try and kill each player in a new creative way. If you want to play, PM me and I will create a wating list. (to be posted below) Well let's get started. I'm ging to use the setting I provided as an example because I do my best work with it."

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Order of Play:

Refuse to investigate and become a god.

Once tried to conquer Earth, and succeeded! Too bad it got really, really boring, really, really fast.

One day, we shall all look back on this, and laugh. Sorry about the face, by the way, and the legs, and the eyes, and the arms. In fact, sorry 'bout the whole body.

Approach the house

IWBTG is I Wanna Be the Guy. Everything tries to kill you except the ground, and even that tries to kill you sometimes.

You approach the house. You stop just short of the porch steps. The porch has two rocking chairs sitting next to the door facing out towards the blankness. Laying in front of the door is a Welcome mat. The door is crusty and old. The knob is round and rusty. There is a knocker on the door. What do you do?

Lies. The ground also tries to kill you. I can think of at least 2 instances.

You go around the back of the house. The back has a single window that is far to dirty to see through. Below that window there is a double door to what you would assume would be a cellar. There is an old rusty lock on the double door. What do you do?

Do to lack of anything else to use, you punch the window. It breaks easily. However when you pull your arm out of the broken window it cuts you. You are bleeding profusely. What do you do?

You take of your shirt and wrap it tightly around your arm. Your arm begins to go numb. You are unsure if it is due to blood loss or poor circulation. What do you do next?
