I just ended up on dragons nest accidently, I was carpenting for the competition on a navy vessel and it went to dragons nest.
I was going to buy a shack there but didn't want to waste the money so I set the inn as my home

I now have 1 doubloon and 150 PoE. The blockades are hard to come by, it seems... the next two are a week and some hours away, which is while I'm at work.

Looks like my only options are to pillage and grind in shops depending on what is free for the day...

Pillaging seems to be the best money, try and find a ship splitting it with 20% and jobbers delight. Poker is soooo easy, all the players seem to be idiots who go all in because they actually have 2 cards! And you know if you have two cards you must be able to win!!!!! I just fold till I get a good hand then go all in and take all their money.

Poker pro-tip: Always call the blind, never call an higher bet unless it's acceptable or you have a high-ranked pair. Never, ever, fold without a reason.

Well, from what I recall, non-event blockades (as in, ones that actually matter to the flags that hire you) only happen after noon on Saturday or before noon on Sunday (times are PST).

Looks like crew names can be up to 24 characters long, including spaces.  Someone mentioned that "The Twelve Bays" is more of a flag name than a crew name, so maybe we don't want that for the crew; what's a good dwarfy <=24 character crew name?

No, we're not forming our own flag (at least, there are no plans for that).  It just sounds more like a name for a flag than it does for a crew.
