I'm sorry for what you are going through. All I can say is that you ought to give her the best time with what she has left, that might make all the difference between surviving and not. People have mad it through worse odds with sheer willpower holding them together.

My mother has cancer, luckily it's not that aggressive. She has so many medical problems that it's a miracle she lived past 30. No one I know personally has died, but I don't really have much of an emotional attachment to anything.

I hope she fights it off. I find it hard to imagine what it's like.

Not only is it not actually advertising anything, it's just copy/pasting word salads about gold, runescape, oil, yuan, and handbags.  It's like a transporter accident combined all the spambots into one shambling mass of online sales.

My dad died from cancer. He had it in the brain and the lungs, but it was actually being beaten and was almost gone when it suddenly appeared in his gut and killed him.

But not all cancer is this bad, and I bet your friend's age will be a positive factor in her battle against it. Best of luck  :-[

Tragic cancer death #8374534. So it goes.

The clock is ticking. I'm certain it would really make her day to be with you again. Buy a webcam?

It's weird that this disease [I am talking about all forms of cancers actually] cannot be cured yet. I read some conspiracy theories about this a couple of years ago...it was interesting. Just read this:
http://www.cancertreatmentwatch.org/q/conspiracy.shtml

Alleged Fact 1: Cancer is a multi-billion dollar industry.
+ Alleged Fact 2: Treatment x cures cancer so well it would destroy that industry.
=> Conclusion: Some individuals, companies, and government organisations involved in the industry are suppressing the information about x to keep their industry thriving.

^...and this is true.  ::)

Riiiiiiight. That's totally not another retarded conspiracy theory thought up by a kid with a mac.

Heh, and I just realized, smoking would become even more profitable once the main risk was removed.

Lol, you talk about curing cancer like it's a virus. It's flawed genetics. Unless you can tell genes not to mess up or specifically kill some cells, it's pretty damn difficulte to 'cure' it. We do have some treatments that kill specific cells, but it's hard to avoid missing some others.

Tobacco companies should donate a few millions to curing lung cancer, that'd be awesome for public relations and good for keeping their customers alive a little longer. And they can't stop the government from telling them not to donate :P

That is, unfortunately, very very true.

Right now, Czech scientists are developing new generation of medicaments to cure cancer, with up to 80% efectivity. Unfortunately, those medicaments are still in phase of laboratory tests and it looks like our goverment won't be donating money to Academy of sciences but to some private companies instead :(

And my piece of advice is: just forget about anything else and go visit her. At least for some time. It will surely make her happier.

If I understood the first post correctly nothing will stop her from dieing now, unfortunately. Only thing that can be done for her is to make her dying easier and happier (to the point where dying can be happy).
