oh, yeah, you can go ahead and fill the prisons with beds, chains and engravings if you like.  Or just one of those.

Well that would actually be a semi-civilized way of treating them :)

It's quite quiet:

----------

18th of Opal: A cat died of old age.  Yes, that's how very boring it is around here.  The excavation goes very smoothly.  The mining is 3/4 done and the smoothing 1/4 done.

26th of Opal: A leatherworker has claimed a leather shop and is frantically running around gathering objects.  I expect to see good leatherwork soon.

27th of Opal: Or not.  We don't have any leather on hand.

15th of Obsidian: There is little to say.  I have order the construction of coffins.  I'm sick of looking at the dwarven bones in our dining room upstairs.  Also, it should flesh out my floor a little.

1st of Granite: So ends the last part of Legolord's turn as overseer.  We receive word that the world has entered and grand new era.  This means little to us, however.

----------

edit:
Also, if the human traders come, can you request some whip vine seeds if it's avaible please?

We have a bag of them already, actually.

Awesome, forbid them please? So no one cooks them until I set up a aboveground farm plot. And lol, this fortress is so awesome it made the world enter a golden age.

Though enough sweat, blood... especially blood, does a new golden age rise, as does this tower!

:D

I might need a suggestion for what too do, other wise my turn will just be stumblingly useless, seeing that most of the required things are done, maybe if the economy is going, I could do a mall... I really don't know.

Can we get some 3dwarfed screenshots of the tower?

(I DON'T THINK IT'S ACTUALLY TOO TALL - WHAT IS IT, FOUR FLOORS HIGH?)

3 floors, if you cound floor 0, which is really only half a floor since it's partially underground.

Actually, after you see my floor you'll see how right you are, especially on the sweat part.  What a pain to designate.

One person took a floor up but didn't build any more than stairs, it seemed like.

I think that was also the insane bridgebuilder who build a roof over his level, or something.

To Xaque, Legon:  It looks like you don't have tombs.  Would you like me to build tombs for you on my level?  I'm doing one for myself, so I thought I would just ask.  It would add to the ambience :)

(Especially Xaque, since he's done like half of the mining on my level)

If it would be possible to join(i highly doubt it) i'd like to. I am quite unexperienced with dwarf fortress, but it i completely screw up you can simply skip me(actually feels like there's a risk of this since i have only got about three years into my current and first fortress). I can understand if you don't want a complete noob potentionally destroying the fortress, or if you already got enought players.

In my experience, succession games are great when some inexperience is thrown in the mix.

9th of Granite: The elves are not happy with our tree-chopping ways.  Their diplomat has chided us for hurting nature.

14th of Granite: Despite their diplomat's words, an elven caravan has arrived.

15th of Granite: The goblins are attacking!  Why was I not informed?  I ordered the champions out.

17th of Granite: The goblins were killed with no problems.  We now have some more prey prisoners to play with on my level.

25th of Slate: Trading went well with the elves.  I bought some seeds and trinkets in exchange for a massive quantity of rock mugs.

1st of Slate: More migrants arrived today, but I failed to get a head count.  We now total 106 dwarves living here.

3rd of Slate: The digging is complete for phase 1 of my floorplan.  The smoothing still has a way to go, however.  Naturally, the floor is covered in mined-out rocks.  I instructed the dwarves to pretend that these rocks simply don't exist.

1st of Felsite: The Baron is throwing a tantrum!  I guess he doesn't appreciate not having a room.  A royal guard was mysteriously found dead after the baron's tantrum.  I have my eye on him.

20th of Felsite: A dwarf has taken over a craftsdwarf workshop and is gathering supplies.

8th of Hematite: The metalworker Litast has been beaten for not making an item out of Bismuth.  Yes, it is ridiculous.  I fear he will die.
