17 in July 1.
Started playing DF in 2008, Spring. Also, I prefer ASCII over tilesets.

Add two dwarf fortress players of age 24. (myself and my wife)

Cool, who was first?
I was.  ;D

I first read about the game on Freeware Fridays over at Big Download.  I started playing, really was loving it and then convinced my wife to play it too.  (We both use a graphic pack)  When she was learning the game, she basically used me as the in-game help system.  I will say this, having a in-person tutor really speeds up the learning process.

What is really cool is getting to watch someone else play Dwarf Fortress as the game is so open to different methods of playing it.   For instance, when I start up a fort I assign skills based upon the order the dwarves are given to me, except for the woodcutter and the potential mayor.  However, when she starts up a fortress, she reads their bios and assigns jobs based upon what each dwarf would actually enjoy....  Some other areas of different styles come up in providing bedrooms for the dwarfs, the focus on a metalworking industry, and the treatment of animals.  Currently we are playing a bloodline game of Dwarf Fortress with just the two of us alternating years.  I just took my third turn and the fort is turning into one of my longest played.  ( ::) I don't normally stay too long with any one fort...)

18, 19 soon.  Been playing since the 2D version.  I prefer the vanilla game to any mods.

Welcome to the internet.

Thankyou, I was totally talking about the internet and not Dwarf fortress.

It's not like people go on the internet to talk about Dwarf Fortress.

Yeah, I just though those who had an account on a DF forum play DF but I guess that is not the case, not mistake.

19 now, but started before the z-axis was introduced. (Long live FLOOD THE WORLD!, flood the world with magma just does not cope with that...)

Although that does not mean I dislike the z-axis, it is a gift of Toady  :)

15... Trillion, i used my cardboard time machine to go forward in time to get this game, then went back before the time before time and have been playing it since.

with all honesty im 15, been playing since a bit after 2D and since have tutored 2 friends to play DF.
(and i will never take it upon myself to do that again)

sheesh, if somebody's making a graph, clearly I have to stand up and be counted, too.

I'm 35.  I picked up DF just this past fall because I kept seeing people include it on lists of "other things Civ and SimCity players play," and of all the games I tried as a result of that research, df is the only one I've stuck with.

Christes, I think it's safe to get rid of the ages 1 through 12 on that chart until someone of those ages declares that they play DF. This is of course to save space and get rid of unnecessary scrolling.
